First off I want to stress that I am not a Yankee fan as I have often stated that my favorite team is the team that I would make the most $$ on. Right now that team is the Indians and right now the Indians look like they will be meeting the Yankees in the opening round of AL playoffs.
This Yankee team is a far different team than the one that trailed the Red Sox by 14 games earlier in the season. They are healthy now and their pitching staff is far better than the first half team. The addition of Clemens, Kennedy, Hughes and Chamberlain have made this pitching staff decent. Since everyone knows they have the best offense in baseball, I believe they presently have the best team in baseball. Does this mean they will win the World Series this year ? No but they easily could ! All you have to mention is Cardinals and We can easily see that the best team doesn't always win the WS. I am not trying to knock what St Louis accomplished last year as My Twins did the same thing in 87 when they only won 85 games as I recall ! I have already won my season over wins bet on the Indians of over 82 1/2 so I want to cover my 28/1 odds on the Indians to win the WS. I havent been able to find any WS odds on Yankees any better than about 7/2 which seems ridiculous to me. I would jump all over any 5/1.
