from the sportsline write up, so, at least one other guy has thrown 6 and lost

It was just the third time in NFL history that two QBs threw five TD passes in the same game. Oakland's Tom Flores (6) and Houston's George Blanda (5) both did it on Dec. 22, 1963, and Billy Kilmer of New Orleans (6) and Charley Johnson of St. Louis (6) also did on Nov, 5, 1969.

Remember this game as George Halas just died:

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="553"><tbody><tr><td width="10">
</td> <td width="543">Vince Ferragamo on December 26, 1982, against the Chicago Bears, threw for 509 yards. At the time, this was the second highest passing in NFL history! If you go back to the tapes, Ferragamo really threw over 600 yards, but receivers dropped passes.</td> </tr> </tbody></table> Summary Passing: 30-46-2 509 3TD

The UK Commentators said that apparantly it happened to Marino in a game Vs the Jets in 86(??) where the Jets also won by a score of 51-45.

Was only paying vague attention though so may have got some bits wrong...

How about being the losing QB in this classic:
On September 13, 1992, the duo again hooked up. This time, it took place in San Francisco as the Buffalo Bills battled the 49ers. Jim Kelly threw for a career-high 403 yards while Steve Young responded with 449 yards through the air. Both quarterbacks had three touchdown passes on the day. The two teams combined for 1,086 yards of total offense in the only game in NFL history that had no punts.
