Chargers have looked pathetic in the first half of both games, here they hired the offensive 'guru' Norv Turner, meanwhile Marty is sitting at home with his HOF coaching resume'.

I have always heard Norv is a supposed offensive coaching genius. If this is so, does he become a moron only when he is a head coach? What's the difference. Seems to me if he is an offensive genius he should hire an excellent defensive coach and worry about offense only.

Chargers only let up more than 24 points in 3 games last year (and they won them all) so unless they pitch a shutout in the 2nd half tonight and make a miraculous turnaround Norv has broken that stat in his 2nd week

I said it when he was fired, it was a terrible decision (no matter what Marty does) .... success in NFL should never be taken for granted, it doesn't usually last that long...when you win 14 games you should never be fired.

The problem with pegging SD as an AFC fave is what do we really know about Phillip Rivers? Can he win a game when they fall behind? He is still an unknown

The Schotty/Smith feud had deep roots...

IMO...Schotty was watching this game tonight with a smile on his face...

He may have stunk in the postseason...but he had the Bolts prepared and his teams were able to make in-game adjustments.

Turner and Cottrell seem deficient in both areas...

This "smooth transition" in staffs just hit a huge pot-hole.

Turner sucks, hands down. Has NEVER been, nor NEVER will be a good head coach. The only reason he was any good at Dallas as offensive coach was because Jimmy Johnson made all the tough calls. Anybody stupid enough to fire a 14 and 2 coach deserves Norv Turner.

I'm sure Norv must bew great at something but a head coach is not one of them, he may turn this team around and still win 12-13 games, SD mgt should be ashamed of themselves fpor thinking what Marty did for this team was irrelevant, the man has won and won and won as a head coach, was a couple fluke plays from the SB that he had nothing to do with...

HOF coach vs a coach who's never won anything as head coach....whatever.

When SD fired Marty, I remember thinking, it will take someone special to fuck up a 14 win team that could win it all.

Then they hired Norv, and I knew something special had happened.
