Mohegan has no poker room so if you dont want to play poker at all go there. With no poker room there are a lot less scrubs.

deck penetration is supposed to be better at Foxwoods ( assuming the OP counts). I like Sun better, but rarely go to either, unless for a concert.

I usually go to Foxwoods. I pay about $220 for a room there. I just called Mohegan sun and they want over $500. Not a good way to get my business. . .

I do hate the scrappy (!) TV's they have in the rooms at Foxwoods. Can't even watch a game on them. Their new Hotel (opening in May) is supposed to have Hi-Def in the room.

It amazes me these places cost so much.

They are just HUGE casinos out in the middle of no where

both places suck IMO.

i couldnt fathom paying their prices for a hotel room, when you can go to vegas (flight included) cheaper.

mohegan is the only place i have ever seen where they literally MAKE YOU FINISH your drinks right at last call.

both places are stale and gloomy, with no action compared to vegas casinos. full of old miserable new englanders.

And they cut drinks off from 2 a - 12 p. And there are hardly if ever any good looking women there.

Although there are tons of fish at the Foxwoods poker tables

The largest casino in the world?! Who cares

About the worst thing that happens in Vegas at 2 am is they take away the stripper looking blackjack dealers with fish net stockings on

finally someone agrees w/ me. I rarely ever go to foxwoods/mohegan. Just isn't fun IMO. If I do gamble, I bring 100 bucks, and remind myself why i never go.

food is no bargain there, either ! In fact the only good thing at either is the Wolf Den at Sun for free concerts.

I liked Sun better, when they had a poker room. It was close to parking garage for easy in/out and closer to me. I like the layout better, too. It's got 4 entrances named for the seasons and is kind of circular with the Wolf Den in the center. I could always tell where exactly I was in there.

mohegan is too dark

That's the "Casino of the Earth", where the Wolf Den is. They built a newer section that includes the Arena and the Hotel and on that end is the "Casino of the Sky". It's the exact opposite in terms of lighting.

Nonetheless, my preference is Foxwoods. I give a slight edge to the Sun when it comes to the Racebook.

If I'm staying overnight at Foxwoods, it's usually because I'm with a so-called high-roller who gets a suite comped once a month.

How much do you have to bet to get a comped suite? I play about once a week. Probably play $40 average per hand at BlackJack. the give me the casino rate but its still $200 for a regular room.

How much more are you betting? Do they comp you or do you use points?

Thanks.

Foxwoods has the better blackjack. Both places have the same rules but Foxwoods historically has better shoe penetration. Mohegan's casino is custom built dark and dull to make people lose whereas Foxwoods is brighter and actually gives you a chance.

Food I would rate both places about even - they all have anything you could be looking for really. Most food is naturally overpriced at both places. I would say Foxwoods probably has a better variety of low-roller choices though.

Neither place really has hookers. Even on the busiest of nights, your chances are incredibly doubtful for anything like that. Best bet is to go north 45 minutes to Providence - lots of options there.
