This could make Leftwich a top 10 fantasy QB by midseason. It will take that long for him to learn Petrino's offense, but obviously the team isn't sold on Joey Harrington. Leftwich has a cannon for an arm and Petrino's offense will allow the QBs to put up big numbers. I'd pick him up and stash him if you have an open spot. He has potential, but don't expect it until midseason if it happens.

haha damn we must disagree on a LOT of stuff.... No way possible will Leftwich come anywhere near top 10 fantasy qb this season. His wr's are terrible, Crumpler is the only reliable recieving threat. The O line isnt very good and the running game with norwood and Dunn is average at best. The Falcons suck and Leftwich will be lucky to be a top 20 qb in fantasy imo

WTF? Top 10 in 6 weeks when he has never been a top 15 QB in any previous season and lost his job to guy who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn? Really? Petrino's offense isn't about a big arm, it is about precision, accuracy and timing, none of which have ever been confused with Leftwich.

Couldn't disagree more. His WRs also stink.

whats up FT, hows your fantasy fball team doing?

Good. 2-0

It was pretty funny with that Sunday night game. I was up 8 pts going into the late game. I was waiting to die because he had Brady going and I had Moss as are only players left. Every time Brady threw to Moss, he lost ground because there's more points in receiving yards and I held on to win. He couldn't get Brady to throw to anyone else.

Playoffs??? How dare u say playofffs???? Leftwich might not even win a game this year...He will get beat on severely if and when he starts playing for the falcons, his O Line might be the worse in the league and hes about as mobile as a lineman

IMO you folks put too much emphasis into previous stats. The system determines how good a QB will be fantasy-wise. Atlanta's offense, when clicking, is going to be throwing alot. Peyton on the Ravens wouldn't be the top fantasy QB... McNair on the Colts would... Leftwich has a great arm and is going to a system that will pass alot.

Jake, seriously, a guy has to be a fit to a system and Leftwich is about as bad a fit to Petrino's system as there is in the league. He is immobile, inaccurate and makes poor decisions, how all of that will change in 6 weeks is beyond me.

Guy may have the strongest arm in the game and if the Falcons learn to protect in their new offense, WR's are going to get open... Brohm isn't exactly mobile and look what he did last year.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one and see how the season plays out.

I guess so. Brohm was fairly mobile before blowing out his knee and all of the prior guys had some mobility too, LeFors and Ragone. however, more to the point, they were all VERY accurate, something Leftwich is definitely not. Brohm is a 67% career passer, LeFors completed 70%+ the year he started and I am fairly certain Ragone was up in the 60% range as well. That is the bigger issue.

I have a real hard tome believing that Jenkins, White, Horn, are going to get open consistently in this offense. This team desperately needs a true #1 wr. Horn isnt getting any younger and White and Jenkings drop everything thrown their way. The best threat in the passing game is Crumpler and Atlantas O Line is terrible so he needs to help in pass protection a lot of the time. No way will Leftwich come anywhere near top 10 qb

Leftwich at Marshall - stats from ncaa.org

2000 - 62%
2001 - 67%
2002 - 67%

He is a 66% career passer

I got to watch this guy over and over again when the Toledo/Marshall rivalry was heated. He is deadly accurate with the football, and throws the 20 yard out better then any QB i have ever seen.

Dont get me wrong here... I like Leftwich and I think he can be a good qb in the nfl... but to say he can get top 10 qb this season with those falcons wrs and that O line is not going to happen.
