they could have set this at 8 and i would have went under the number. this is the biggest game detroit has played all season, and they have their ace on the mound. tigers absolutely have to win here or they will lose ground to cleveland in the standings and blow their final chance to make up head-to-head ground. verlander has been phenomenal lately and i expect that continue tonight against the indians, who have struggled with front line pitchers not named johan santana. on the flip side, westbrook has been excellent for cleveland the last month and a half. he was out of sync early in the year but once he came back from the disabled list he has become very effective. big time implications for detroit. two pitchers throwing the best they have all season. under 9. under 8. maybe even under 7.

I think the biggest game Detroit played this season was yesterday, they are done and deep down they probably know it.

I rather like Cleveland to wrap it up tonight at the plus price.

Verlander has been tagged for a ton of runs in his starts against Cleveland this season. Must have an ERA close to 6, if not higher. Also, Westbrook has not been all that sharp recently. Just got hit pretty hard last time out against the White Sox.

Good luck

i definitely agree with you that last nights loss was crushing. as soon as blake his the homer, i thought the indians might have wrapped up the division. but the good news for detroit is they have verlander going tonight and theres a good chance he can even up this series, setting up another big game tomorrow afternoon. i still think detroit has one push left in them. but the game tonight will determine if they go in the tank or not. i think the starters both go 6 innings and turn it over to the pens around 3-2.

westbrook has allowed 3 or less in 8 of his last 10 starts. if he can duplicate that, i dont see more than 7 runs total in this game.

btw agree with the Under play. Should be a tense game and with two quality pitchers going both teams may try to manufacture runs instead of hoping for a big inning.

Normally I would agree with that. But if Detroit loses the season is over and if Cleveland loses they get to win tomorrow. For better or worse that creates unlimited effort by Detroit tonight. We will see.

martinez donates a run to the tigers cause. seeing eye single and error have opened it up.

judo chop

judo chop indeed, lol.
thats betting. doesnt matter who you are, youre not immune to absolute clunkers. westbrook and verlander dug their own graves with walks. could be a 2-2 game still.
