Wow, talk about an under the radar huge season. I guess since everyone stopped following the Devil Rays in May, this one caught me by surprise.

He's making $800,000. What a bargain.

As I said in another thread, great scouting by the Rays. Anyone with 35+ home runs is a serious season post-steroid era.

Actually, they released him just before the season started, and then Greg Norton got hurt and they brought him back. Talk about lucky.

I was shocked when I saw the stat....he has abused all the pitching he has faced this year...its absurd...

I'm more impressed when players do this on contending teams in games that matter.. 42 is a great feat but its not all that impressive when your team was out of contention in April and you can just relax and swing from your heels every atbat.
