I love the NFL..it doesn't really feel like betting, it's more of a mind game..whoever you thinks is supposed to win or do whatever..never does, and you bet against it.

i.e..the saints "should win and cover" at home tomorrow night.

There has been a couple of threads along the same line. I completely agree with you. Is anyone winning? Not me

It is so true, its not even funny....and I know better, I freaking know better....all the care, the looking of lines, following (or trying to follow steam), the obscure soccer games, all kinds of shit, and then I throw it down the gutter with a few miserable NFL picks, one of which loses by a half, you can probably guess who......

I had three kicks returned for touchdowns against me today......

Same here man. I am pretty good when it comes to college, but when it comes to the NFL I usually suck...bad!

My top sport is baseball and then basketball. I don't know why it is but it really seems to me that with baseball I can decipher stats better than in any other sports. I handicapped not even 1/3 of the MLB season and got above +90 units, but it fell a bit to around +75. Still, that is a good bit of money and a great season. For the rest of the season I would just chase a certain team when I felt they would win at least one game out of a series or that team was due for a win/loss, got around +50 units just using that method. Then there was the few games of live betting I did which profited about +10 units. To top it all off, I am closing the season using the 1st inning system that BB posted, and since I started using it on September 10th I am up over +35 units.

Baseball is where it's at for me, clearly.

Sadly you are correct. Every week I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football and having it pulled away by Lucy.
You just have to consider NFL bets entertainment only. Those lines are so damn sharp. Flip a coin and drink a six pack.

entertainment, pure and simple. A bad beat will get me hot, but if I am a loser moneywise at the end of a sunday, I usually still had a good sunday because there is just so much entertainment value for me in betting the nfl and watching football all day and night to finish off my week.

I started out 5-1-1 opening weekend and thought I was unstoppable. Now I couldn't win a game if I had the Lions + 34.

I don't know why I even waste time, let only money with the League. I have exactly 1 win in the last 8 games in the NFL.

Thats a good way to look at it. I also think it is an ego thing, everyone wants to think they are smart enough to beat the toughest sport.

I usually suck at NCAA and am great at NFL. This year I have been on fire picking NCAA and have only got 1 out 9 right in NFL. I win big on Saturday then blow it all Sunday. I'm taking a few weeks off.

oh yea, definitely, the challenging aspect of the whole thing is very attractive. After all, at the end of the day, we are all gamblers. love it.

Up until last season, I would do very well on Saturdays and then get absolutely crushed on Sunday. Last season, for the first time, I did pretty well in the NFL. (Fishhead published some sort of guideline for betting the NFL last year. One of this tips was to never lay more than 3 points in the NFL. That alone has turned my fortunes around.)

I do all my serious work on Saturdays and just lay 2-3 bets on Sunday. Does wonders for my blood pressure.
