Just heard this on the radio. Thought it was intersting. I guess it was early last year and they pulled him out of game early.

Frank has a lot of pride and knew his days were numbered wearing a MLB uniform , a lot was on his mind.

they were talking about that also. What exactly happened? Was he upset about LeCroy or was it something else?

if this was a real game I think Detroit would be all over this but just not sure Leyland abuses this.

I assumed he was upset about realizing he wasn't coming back , I think he had just found out it was final earlier that day.

I agree. Why would he do to him in a meaningless game, but who knows?

Nah...he was crying because it was a 'pride' thing...and he knew that LeCroy had a lot of pride, and Robinson had to pull him out of the game in the middle of an inning.

He felt like he hurt LeCroy's feelings & embarrassed him...by having to pull him out of the game...in the midst of an actual inning.

this is what I thought I heard on the radio earlier but don't recall this game so I thought it might had to do more with what Journeyman was saying.

Pulled him in the middle of the inning, wow that would be tough to do as a manager.

My memory usually serves me correctly and I am fairly certain the whole pride thing Rev_Al is talking about was the main reason he got emotional, he felt terrible about the embarassment.

but Jman also has a point that he probably had a lot on his mind.
