Yeah, yeah i know its early. But how many great RB's started their careers as slow as Bush has?

565 Rushing Yds last year with a 3.6avg
Hasnt broken 40 Rushing yards in a game this year with a 3.0 avg

Have there been top 10 RB's who started off this slow and eventually turned into a stud RB? I know there have been some late round RBs that started slow, but that is for different reasons.

Even a kid like Adrian Peterson on the Vikes is already racking up yardage and looking far more impressive than bush.

Bush looks like a glorified scat back.

He is a 3rd down back....period, he's like a Napolean Kaufman was for Oakland.

I wondered how long it would take for these posts to come up after the Texans passed on him.

Seems like it'd only be about a year. haha.

I compare the Bush selection to the Desmond Howard selection. Alot of hype and big plays in college but just not suited to be a stud every down player in the pros. Howard was a great all purpose guy, but was never suited to be a WR.

no way no how, bigger bust than leaf, akili smith? goes on and on. bush had 88 catches and like 1300 rec/rushing yards last year, that right there made him more productive than those 2.

you guys are insane. he had 1300 total yards, 88 receptions and 9 TDs last year. sounds like a huge bust and a real "slow" start to one's career. The Saints problems this year go much deeper than Bush. Deuce isn't doing shit on the ground either. He may never turn into a better Marshall Faulk, but there is no way he will be a bust.

PLay calling has been terrible. They have Bush running 5 yards turning around and stopping, catching the ball then getting jacked up.

They have done nothing to get him in the open field (at least tonight) such as throwback screens, WR passes, slants, line up as WR and send on post,etc.....

Like I've always said, the Texans definitely should have taken Mario Williams. That being said, all skill players are only as good as their lines and right now Reggie Bush is not getting any holes to run through. If he was on the Colts, he'd be picking up more yards per rush than Joseph Addai (who I love). He's the most athletic back in the league and if he gets room to run, he'll go crazy. The Texans didn't need him as bad as Mario but that doesn't mean he's not one of the top 5 most talented backs in the league.

Actually I think time might tell the texans had it right as well , and we all had it wrong . INCLUDING ME. Williams looks really ,really good this year.

Your point about Bush over Young because they signed Brees is well taken. BUT that doesnt mean they made the correct decision. I can easily see not only Young , but Williams too making Bush's career look pale to theres 10 years from now.

He's not a bust but he's not a power runner. He is more of a pass catching back. The reason the Texans didn't take VY is because they picked up the option on Carr's contract. Big mistake obviously, but I like what I'm seeing from Schaub. If Mario continues to improve the pick looks better and better after passing on Bush.

When Reggie is washed up in the NFL he should make it up to Canada, he'll be successful on the big field.
