Definatly go LCD, they last longer. The plasma will eventually burn out and look like shit. I have seen it first hand.

I need HD myself, I'm only going for the 32 though.

I dont think it matters between circuit and BB. Just talk with a sales associate and tell him you want a kick ass TV and you dont want to pay a lot.

go with plasma, dont listen to this burn out shit, its a myth, i may have happened before but it would have been an isolated incident

the new plasmas are awesome

here is what you do, go to best buy or circuit city, compare the plasma and lcd for yourself, have them put on a football game or baseball game so you can see for yourself which one YOU like better

that is what i did, i went with the plasma, thought that it looked better with sports

got the 42" panasonic plasma, wanted the 50" but too much $$ at the time, i love my tv

it is all personal preference now

With kids that thing will be on all the time, (as you use at night as well) WONT last for your uses. Just got the sony 1080 hd at best buy, 60'' I think. Had a 60'' big screen that the wife wanted out after over 15 years of use, couldn't see downgrading in size. Once you go over 52'' plasma they get pricey.

Love the looks and picture of plasma and would do one if I had a bigger house and with a place for it.

I have a 40 inch Samsung LCD in the bedroom...it looks awesome for sports. Though my brother-in-law has a 65" Plasma and that looks darn good too. I like the Samsung sets...they're pretty easy to use (I use PIP a lot and that works well for me.)

Did you buy the 42LB5D? LCD..

I had mine for 2 days and the power supply went on it..The yech told me the power supply's go very frequently and they need to change over to a different supply cause it's faulty. They replaced the motherboard and power supply, took about a week; pissed me off to no end..

I can't get myself to drop big coin on a tv since the way technology is moving, whatever you buy is worth crap in 1 yr.

I got a 47" rear projection Panasonic about 5-6 years ago for about $1100 off of Ebay, and I'm perfectly happy with it.
