played it under 10 at (-125) myself, but would definitely still play it under 9.5 or 9 with even juice. basically, it doesnt matter what the juice is because im convinced the game will have 6-7 runs at most.

indians rested sizemore and cabrera yesterday in the opener. im speculating here, but i dont think theres any way wedge lets victor martinez catch and play 3 games in the span of 24 hours this late in the season. to me, he is a logical player to get the nightcap off.

two lefties going at it on the mound. washburn is reliable. total is based on sowers, who is still one of the best prospects in the organization. he was outstanding in his september call-up last year but something just went wrong in the early part of this season. he's back from buffalo for a spot start and i really expect him to throw well. he was bombed in some april/may starts but i just think being sent down will prove to be the best thing for him.

not sure if the mariners will help out and give a starter the night off in game 2. but i dont think cleveland will be all-out to win the nightcap especially if they hold on in game 1. theyll still be in good shape for home field regardless.

i have no idea who wins game two. prob seattle. but i think its 5-2 or 4-3 on the scoreboard regardless.

I agree totally on this and actually placed a fairly large wager earlier in the day. I got it at under 10 thankfully, since many books have now shaded down to 9.5 and a few locals have it at 9.

Huge mistake thinking sowers is a good prospect. Sowers is very bad. Don't tell me anything about 2006 either. Not saying the total wont go under but to say sowers is even remotely good is absurd.

The last 2 times Sowers pitched were Sept 1 and August 27. He gave up 5 and 6 runs. Think this is a game to play Seattle or stay off of.

sowers is the real deal if he can get his mechanics corrected, he has major league stuff but hasn't show it earlier this year.

so lets see, he has a great career at vanderbilt. has success at every stop in the minors. gets fast tracked to cleveland. has terrific success against some of the best lineups in baseball during the pennant race last year. was widely considered by rival teams to be one of the best young prospects in the american league.

... but now that he had a month or two of bad starts in his mid 20s, hes dog shit?

hell, if a string of bad starts means youre garbage, then roy halladay would have been out of baseball years ago.

personally, i think sowers is a good #3. i dont think he'll ever been a front of the rotation pitcher. but then again, when guys like glavine and beurhle get hit around, they NEVER look good in the process either.

theres good reason to think sowers will be a quality pitcher in the majors though. he got his ass kicked a few starts earlier in the year, but what young pitcher hasnt? he'll be a 13-8 kind of pitcher for a lot of years with an era in the mid 3s.

Sowers is a damn fool....the under is the right play but that gascan and the bullpen will blow it....right out of the water...

I've followed your picks several times over the past year or so in both Football and B-ball. Your picks are always supported by a logical analysis and they tend to do quite well. If there's such a thing as a "sharp", you seem to be one. Haven't seen Sowers at all but I'm tailing you here. Good Luck and the thanks for your efforts at the RX.

This Sowers character is a ticking time bomb....I'm still not sure how he got out of that first inning w/o any runs scored on him...this second inning looks just as bad.

BTW, i have cleave +1.5 and under 9.5 parlayed....lol...i'm kissing it goodbye early

I'm hoping he can settle in but it sure looks like a matter of time before he gets shelled the way he's going. He's behind on just about every hitter and the strikes he has thrown are mostly right down the middle.

not watching, but following online it seems as though he is having some serious control issues....a few more innings, even if by luck, then he will have done his job.
