I am a little behind the times, still have a PS2, but want the newest and best. PS3 seems logical to me since the games are well known and especialyl the controller. What would you all say? i want to play Madden and other sports games, ETC..

xbox 360 is your best choice then for sports games with a very active online gaming base.

ps3 for simple fact it doubles as a blue ray disc player. Amazing what a movie looks like on these things!

I personally like the PS3 over the X-Box 360

but I think the X-Box Live thing simply has waaaay more people than the playstation online play.

oh yeah, X-Box has Halo 3. (and I think they got the Madden, etc.)

Ps3

cheapest blu-ray disc player is $500....if you want it for gaming, it's like getting that for free! You need to go to a best buy and watch a demo of a blu ray player...can't believe the clarity of these things...don't know how a movie can get any better.

the dvd player on the ps2 is of pretty shitty quality. You can be damn sure they threw in a cheap version of a blue-ray player into their console.

PS3's game lineup is pretty unimpressive at this point, with the longevity of most games not lasting long because there really isn't a multiplayer community. The PS3 has done jack shit so far in the competition and their sales are lagging way behind the other two companies.

Madden, NBA, and NHL all have huge audiences on the 360 and are pretty competitive at that. HD-enabled, hard drive, and no lag makes a big difference imo for sports gamers. Graphics are really beautiful on 1080 also.
