New computer suggestions???

Hey guys,

Looking for a new computer. I think I want one of them "gaming" computers. I guess I need loads of memory, and ultra fast processor? I don't play games, but I want something that I can have Aol, Excel, IM, Firefox (30+ tabs), a couple of poker sites, pokertracker, pad all running insta quick with no lag. I've had current desktop for 5+ years, so time for an upgrade. Would like to hear some advice on a nice machine. I don't need monitors..I have (2) 20 inch Dells that are just fine. I currently have Windows XP Pro, and my interent connection is comcast hi speed.

You don't need an Alienware for all that you need to do.

There are sites where you can costumize computers.

The most important factor will be RAM.

2 gigs of high quality ram will do you wonders. Also quad core processor is a big +.

Don't mess with all the little perks, you will spend money that you dont have too.

Don't buy from Alienware if you don't need a fancy video card. Go to Dell and pick the computer that uses the fastest RAM, then max it out. 4+ GB of RAM is not a luxury anymore.

Raw processor speed isn't even all that important. I'd advise you to pick one that sits in the sweet spot, $-wise.
