If the MEts win 90 games thanks to winning in a one game playoff doesnt the sportsbook have to honor over 89.5? Thanks

oh wow... is that what their # was 89.5? If I had to guess I would say no because its not an official regular season game. I think it is considered a 1 game playoff meaning its not regular season play... just my guess though

all stats count to season stats and so does the win its just they play 163 games the mets prolly wont win it if they get to it but i was under the impression its a regular season game.

Unless the books state the season ends today, it does count as a regular season game and all records count towards the reg season. No different than an overtime game.

I believe any pre-postseason playoff game will count in the win total. When the baseball almanacs are printed, the final standings include the results of these games (as well as, all the stats). For example, The Red Sox and Yankees played a 1 game playoff in 1978 (a game I attended). If you look up the season standings for 1978 in the baseball almanac, The Al East looks like this:

This is the exact situation I was thinking of when thinking that these pre-postseason games would count.

I think Bucky Dent attended that game as well ;)

So did Lou Piniella. How he ever stabbed that ball Remy hit in the ninth is still a mystery (Burleson should've read base hit all they way and been on 3rd anyway).
