i never really respect people who say "we". they dont pay me, us or u to be fans.....but to be honest Im a fan of 1 team in all of sports, and thats the Phillies.

Everyone has scars, relationships etc that define them, and this team is really the only positive part of my life be4 i moved out of philadelphia at the age of 19,

I had a rocky family life, and sports were a big part of who i am, and baseball was the only bond i ever had with a father that otherwise discarded me , my mother and my brother.

Without getting all sappy, the phillies are the only team Im passionate about, which always seemed odd to me considering i was highly competetive high school basketball player in philly, and went on to play in college.

Yet i hate the nba, and iw atch 162 + days of baseball every year (i stopped playing in 10th grade to focus more on hoops.

Anyway, the Phillies have done it, and its SO SATISFYING

THe happiest moment in my adult sports life, as i have not followed a team that had a playoff run except for the eagles, but for me, its just not the same as baseball.

Jimmy rollins hit his 20th triple and became the first player since willie mays to do what he did today, and Im proud to have seen one of baseballs greatest baseball accompishments of the last 50 years. Not only statistically, but Rollins spoke up preseason and was greatly criticized for his comments. I really admire people who can do what he did......

I share this info with u , my fellow RXers as i have to come to know and respect many of u for your friendships and contributions here........I dont care if anyone condemns or mocks me for being sappy about this, its very special to me.

So for all u Phillies fans, celebrate today in whatever your special way is, and we can forget about 93 and joe carter, blah blah...we have our own history to make now. Enjoy it, because while yankee, braves, lakers, and colts fans get to do this every year, we know far to well how hard it is to not back a front runner.

For those baseball fans of u whose teams did not win this year, i feel for u, its tuff to watch the playoffs as just an observer or bettor, if u truly love the game.

This is usually the day i dread the most, the last day of baseballs eason, (baseball is the only sport i say a turn a large profit at). But today, i have other nonfinancial reason to celebrate.

As a METS fan, I wish the Phillies good luck. There was no way in hell METS deserved to get into the playoffs playing the way they did in September. At least I faded them.

As a Cubs fan I would definitely like to congradulate you on a great comeback season. I would not love more than to see the critics eat their words when they were blasting Jimmy Rollins.

that would be great 5 star......if we play rockies, or if we play cubs in following round...it reminds me of 93, some very "offensive" series...

can u imagine phils and rockies final scores?

11-9?

13-10

lolol....

only here can i feel like people would understand how if eel...thanks to u guys for understanding and not finding my rambling as overly sentimental or sappy.....i enjoy other sports, but i love baseball.....best of luck to any fans of teams remaining, I also shall continue to cap and post for remainder of playoffs, hope u guys continue to do the same, so we can bounce ideas off each other and even if we dont all agree on same games, perhaps we can offer other opinions to help our fellow rxer's recognize a no-play, or a different view.

Zeke

gonna play a small teaser on 2night MNF game. 7 pt teaser. What do you like??:
NE -2 or Cincy +16......
OVER 47 or UNDER 61........

I am leaning heavy on Cincy +16 and OVER 47.
your input appreciated!!:pope:

zeke congrats on finishing on top in the mlb invatational. very nice 2nd half run, just like the phils.

phils need the padres to win tonite, then they will only see peavy once. pads played philly tough at philly towards the end of the summer. but in that series, milton bradley was huge. phils beat the padres easy imo. they don;t wanna play the rockies (hot team). beat the pads easy, then beat either cubs/dbacks, def doable, then on to the world series.

im gonna bet cincy onm the regular line +7.5, and possibly a small wager on cincy ml........

and the teser over 46 seems good as most people r betting the regular over, so if that hits, u will win this.......so id say both those look good....

incidentally...i may post a pick....but i really have a better than 60% feeling that padres win this game tonight....which definitely puts me in the minority

Congratulations Zeke and the rest of the Phillies backers. Hope they take the World Series. You guys stuck with them and they won fair and square.
i thought that it would be the end when Hamels went down but they did it. It seems that the "big apple" got stuck in the Met's throats.

GOOD LUCK:toast:
