what does everyone think is the average bet ($) made at offshore books?

not what you bet, i am curious to see what others think people are betting on a game.

The distribution would be skewed heavily ... so MEDIAN might be a better indicator.

tricky question. if you take in all the big players[5000,10,000, 20,000] the average bet would go up pretty high. if you don't take in those players i'd say between 50 and a 100.
a buddy has about 240 players offshore and about 150 of them play between 100 and 500 per game, which is an absolute gold mine.

A few years ago, a couple of us looked into this and found out the average bet made during a football season was like 373.00....at the time thought it was a little low, considering huge bets coming in from whales...

my guess is average would be about $50...median I can't guess but it would be considerably lower...maybe $10-15

I'm surprised you got a number so high...I would have thought there would be a lot more recreational bettors per whale

In Week I of the NFL season and the start of the playoffs, you're probably correct.

After a few weeks, the number of recreational bettors just plummets ... especially the whales with a limited bankroll ... i.e. people wagering 20-40% (and sometimes 100%) of their bankroll.

the median is the midpoint in a series of numbers with half the data values above the median, and half are below.

my example was the average of the 90% Central Interval.
