It was a rubber room thread...but the second someone becomes a mod, they're off-limits for legitimate questions pertaining to their behavior?

And what in that thread was even inappropriate? There were a ton of legitimate questions and points presented in that thread, and now they're all gone forever.

I'm confused. Does being a moderator give one some type of immunity to valid questioning/criticism or something? If so, maybe someone can post rules so we all know what's on and off-limits.

Thanks.

Rule one - You can call Jman a douche only if he is no longer a mod. Than if he quits you can say it in 50 threads.

Just trying to give the guy a fresh start and not start another lynching because he said "watch and learn" one time.

I don't know if all that is true, but there were some great points made about his record-keeping in that thread. Then, of course, there was the issue of his "watch and learn" comment, which spawned the thread in the first place.

OMT disappeared as soon as that shit went down...was hoping he'd offer an explanation now that he's back. A lot of us were hoping for that back then, since it seemed so unlike him.

Why should a guy get a fresh start when his "start" is a result of past activity/behavior?

Put it all out there, if he can't back his shit up, he should at least be accountable.

Just trying to give the guy a fresh start and not start another lynching because he said "watch and learn" one time.

It wasn't just the "watch and learn" thing...there were also a ton of questions posed about other issues people had.

I don't think a lynching would've ensued. I just figured that now that he's back full-time, he'd welcome the chance to explain what happened for everyone once and for all.

When other posters get bashed for something, leave, then come back, the questions still come because that's what posters here do: we hold each other accountable. It's disappointing that a moderator is let off the hook simply because of his status with this forum. No other posters are afforded that privilege, although I'm sure a ton of them would've appreciated it.

Come on itsn't what has already gone on enough for you. We asked Ted to come back and moderate, he didn't ask us. He has always been a gentleman with everyone and gets dumped on because of three words.

Lighten up would ya.

Abuse me, pick on me call me anything you want, I don't care. Just please let Ted and Iceman have a chance to help the site get better.

I just gave a general amnesty to a bunch of banned posters, no questions asked. You can ask Roach23. We are trying to create a workable mod team and Ted has always worked hard to do what he can to help posters as a poster and as a mod.

Try - I mean a fresh start as a moderator.

I don't understand why this is being seen as giving OMT a hard time. And again, it wasn't about just those three words. Like I said before, there were a bunch of valid questions and points presented by respected posters in that thread, and he dodged all of them by disappearing. Now that he's back, it's unfair to expect him to answer them? I disagree. It's the same expectation we'd have for any poster.

I'm not riled up or trying to give anyone a hard time. I was just one of numerous posters hoping for an explanation back then, and now that he's undoubtedly back, hoping for one now.

And what transpired this past weekend has no bearing on this issue. I don't understand what that has to do with anything.

Is there a way to reinstate that thread?

I just gave a general amnesty to a bunch of banned posters, no questions asked.

That's different. If Roach had been questioned for shady record-keeping practices or something he said that was inappropriate by dozens of respected posters, then disappeared, then came back, then he'd be bombarded by those same questions by posters immediately upon his return. That's what the posters here do: they hold each other accountable. Time doesn't give someone a clean slate; being forthcoming can, though.

So yeah, we're talking about different things here.

I have the thread.

Here is a post almost at the end of it by a respected poster:

Then there are posts all thru it like this:

Those defending him are probably just as shady when it comes to posting accurate records and units. If it had been anyone else they'd nail him to the cross and they know it.

Hopefully OldmanTurd will take his comeuppance in stride and learn from it. Being a cocky douche will get you nowhere at a place full of other cocky douches like Boxslaver and Dsuckthi.

That poster Simbac ruined the thread for everyone and turned it into a lynching that was totally unfair

Bottom line is the thread is riddled with Omni Frog ghosts and I am not going to let him run all over anyone mod or otherwise.
