Baseball plays twice as many games as basketball, yet allows half as many teams to procede to the dance. Thats not my beef, tho. The notion that weather dictates the ndeed for a shortened series in the first round is shaky. But its ridiculous if you are going to stretch the 5 game series out to 8 days. The NBA extended their first round series to 7 gaqmes a few years ago, and the sky didn't collapse. I say its time for baseball to do the same.

The 3 division winners were tied going in to the last 5 or 6 days of the season. Boston outplayed Cle and L.A. in those 5 days. But 2 games at home in a 5 game series is too big of an edge. Given L.A.'s problems against Bos., I'm surprised to see Bos open at -180.

PS. I am an Angel fan, and as such, a bit biased. But putting that aside.... I still think 6 months of games warrants a 7 game series
