I didnt see the play everyone is talking about...Im sure I'll catch it on sportscenter later...something about a colorado player not touching home plate

but is it possible that the "mlb boys" thought the rockies would be a better draw in the playoffs than the boring ass padres?????

Id like to hear what the RX thinks....:ok:

The ump thought that even if he calls holiday out, hoffman would find another way to blow the game. He did the pads fans a favor by ending quicker.

Im kinda confused with that logic primetime

I mean....dont you think more people would tune in to the MLB playoffs now with this cinderella story of the Rockies getting in the postseason

what were their odds in the beginning of the season to win it all??...Im sure they were BIG

and how many games did they win in a row to close the season out to put them in a position for a 1 game playoff??

I was joking around.

trust me that if MLB wanted the Rockies to win they wouldn't wait to the 13th inning to do it. And how did MLB that the game would come down to a super close play at the plate??

My logic is far more reasoned than yours.

nobody said they would wait til the 13th

but the word could have been put in "any close calls to decide the game go to COL"

are you trying to tell me you were ready to tune into a Padres playoff game??

lmfao

nah......you on that pats bandwagon I see......too bad peyton manning is still breathing

Yes MLB was lucky the Pads had time before the game after flying in from Milwaukee to practice that play with Holiday arriving at the plate at the same time as the ball. Fortunately everyone had read their script and knew what to do.

exactly

now the next thing Im going to hear is the pittsburg steelers won the super bowl 2 years ago fair and square

:monsters-

one twerp ref in the NBA was fixing games and it leaked out. Do y ou think that if Tagliabue orchestrated a dozen refs to fix a game that it would never leak out? do you know how many people would need to be involved to get that done?

Do us a favor and never bet again. Would you bet on a WWE wrestling match? No, because its fixed. Well if you think all the sports are fixed than why bother betting and posting?

To bet on something that you know is fixed is a little moronic.

I feel sorry for you people. If you believe sports are fixed, stay away from them and go read a book or something.

actually

to try and convice me and others that a sports game isnt fixed every now and then is moronic

do yourself a favor and wake up.....you think anyone that bet the seahawks that year agrees with you??...or do they think it was already set in stone pitt was going to win....you do the math

and I dont even want to speak on the NBA....basketball is the EASIEST to fix

it cracks me up to see people still believing that when you gamble on sports....its always "fair and square"

The game was not fixed...

Rather it was a very good game between two teams fighting for their playoff lives...

McClelland is one of the best umpires in MLB.

He had a tough call and did the best he could from a tough angle.

Either way...the Rox bats raked Hoffman.

A terrific ballgame.

except it was a terrible angle and he was completely out of position. He did a terrible job on that play.

:nopityA: You're from Cali and you think the Padres losing was fixed? No kidding.

I'll be onboard with this thread if they beat us in the NLDS :lolBIG: .

Gotta agree here :toast:

Last nights game was more about SD blowing the game rather than saying the game is fixed and the MLB wanted Col to win....because if they did dont you think they would have called the HR that was called a double the other way around. SD scores 2 in the top of the 13th and then Col hit back 2 back doubles and a triple to score tying run. Those arnt controlled by the umps...JMO

I wouldn't say this particular game was fixed...but there is something quite "remarkable" about the Rockies run....it may be political and have nothing to do with baseball.... the playoffs in baseball have been fixed before...of most recent was the Redsox and the whole CUrt Schilling blood on my sox nonsense, it was ketchup and everybody knew it......Larussa knew it and was forced to go along with it as did the rest of his players who tanked on purpose....a lot of games back in the 80's were rigged as well...The Mets and the Dodgers were involved in a few games...Lasorda was complicit...THe same syndicate involved in the NBA ref scandal was involved in the fixing of Dodger games back in the 80's....
