The call at the plate was obvious. Holliday's hand never made it within 4 inches of the plate. How can an umpire miss a call like that???
It is very obvious that instant replay must be implemented.
It's a sad day for baseball when one team loses because of an umpires INCOMPETENCE!!!
Game should be continued with score tied , 2 outs, nobody on base.
That is a big FUK JOB.
And I'm not even a Padres fan. Actually more for the Rockies. Just don't agree with this bullshit by Major League Baseball.
This is the 21st century. And they permit this kind of bullshit to occur!

Give me a break. This wasn't incompetence. The umpire couldn't tell, so he hesitated then guessed the safe way.

If the umpire couldn't tell then he shouldn't have the responsibility of being behind the plate. The fact that he hesitated for several seconds immediately tells you that he didn't think that Hollidays hand ever touched home plate. Then out of the blue the ump signals safe. As this was happening the catcher tagged Holiday out. A very simple call. The only thing he was sure about was that the catcher tagged Holliday out.
Therefore, the only call that can and should be made is runner OUT!!!!
