dont like to make a habit of playing the board, but all three games are very appealing. really dont want to limit the card to one play when i think all three are solid.

colorado rockies (+145)
boston under 8.5 (-105)
chicago cubs (-1.5) (+200)

i expect the phillies to win the series but i dont think theyll take game one. colorado will ride the emotional buzz from monday and i think they will fare well today. id expect a 'crash' from the rockies in games two and beyond. while rollins and utley are better than youd expect vs. lefties, howard is very poor vs. them. thats why im reluctant to play the phils vs. any good lefty. middle of the lineup could leave a lot of guys on base.

although im playing all three for the same amount, the boston total looks to be the best of the bunch. both beckett and lackey are postseason studs who have pitched, and dominated, on the biggest postseason stages. being an american league game keeps this total at 8.5 but i really dont see more than 7 here.

two very good pitchers going at it in arizona. but im reluctant to call for a pitchers duel in a ballpark that has been playing small this year with lots of runs scored. ill take my chances with the best pitcher on the team i feel is the best in the NL. runlines are something i usually steer clear from, esp in the postseason. but the +200 return is enticing in that ballpark and with a capable away team.

Agree on first two, but Cubs remember past.....and are doomed to repeat it. If they only had Chance, Evers and Tinker back from 1908 then maybe........:nopityA:

trust me, i recognize that webb is very, very good. but i just think the ballpark is playing so small this year that if the cubs DO win, it will be by 2+ and if arizona wins, it could be the same thing. as opposed to taking the cubs at a relative pick'em, i went with the -1.5/+200 option. i feel the cubs win this game. now its a matter of how many they can put on the board. in a pitchers park, i probably wouldnt play the runline. but in arizona, ill give the +200 a shot and see if we cant get a 4-2 or 5-3 final.

Really like the Cubs bet. Big Z has struggled lately, but last two games he's been on, and when he's on he's the best pitcher in the league. Webb on the other hand has fallen off since his scoreless streak. Hell, Webb's 3 game WHIP is about 1.5...not exactly lights out.

Any thoughts on the Chi/AZ total? I'm thinking under all the way, mainly because I think one of the two studs going tonight will go 7 innings of 2 run ball. As long as the pens don't blow it, I think it's good. Thoughts? Good luck today.

if this game were any other place than arizona (for sake of argument), id be all over the under. but i just cant play a total under 7.5 in a park that has been playing small this year. trust me, i am ready and willing to play an under at the drop of a hat. if the price is right, ill gladly fire away at an under even if the # is perceived as being too low to most. webb is one of those pitchers i tried to play 'under' away from home this year. great pitcher. and doesnt have to deal with the zona home field. even though i love the two pitchers involved in tonights matchup, i couldnt pull the trigger on the under. im almost hoping for a 9-10 run game tonight somehow so i can make some money when this series flips back to wrigley and we can get some cold october weather to keep it dead under.

You won't get your wish Prodigy. Mid 80's all weekend in Chicago. The wind will be blowing out Saturday for sure.

cooling down considerably in ohio/pennsylvania/new york area. surprised that its still summer-like conditions up in illinois. might have to wait for round two if the cubs can make it for the weather to start playing a factor.
