I don't like either Manning, and think they're both overrated. Not saying Peyton stinks, but he isn't anywhere at the level of the top 10 or so all-time great IMO. All that guy's commercials are dull and lame, but there was one I saw this weekend that I have to admit pumped me the f*ck up. It's with Manning and Jason Taylor is running through what looks like a hotel hallway from something out of "The Shining" a voice says something like "3 seconds til sack" and Jason Taylor is running thru the hallway knocking out lights....then Manning looks to pass to Marvin Harrison but Harrison has "2 Dolphins" swimming around him underwater...so he looks to a kid who says "CLARK"...

If that doesn't pump you up then you don't have a pulse. I was telling a couple of people about the commercial but they have not seen it and I can't find it on youtube or google. If anyone knows what i'm talking about and can find it online, i'd really appreciate if they could post a link.

I have read some crazy stuff on here over the years but to say Peyton Manning is overrated is crazy. Put down the pipe son.

I didn't say Manning was heavily overrated but he's overrated. Manning can't create plays when he is pressured. My definition of a great QB is someone who can create plays instead of being a dead duck sitting in the pocket like BOTH Mannings. The average football fan wouldn't understand this, and I assume the comments are from average football fans. The guy has a great arm, he's very precise, that is unequivocal.

The guy just can't make a play for his life when the pressure is on. He is a slow mover and is very stiff in the pocket. Take a look at all the games the Colts lost and 'WHY' they lost. He calls it "protection break-downs." Ughh, actually, in the NFL, and more specifically, in the playoffs, you are GOING to get pressured at some point. Last year the Colts Offense Line did an insane job, I don't see that happening this year.

You remember this post and watch this year in the playoffs when Manning gets Heat and watch how poorly he plays. He'll do 1 of two things, take a sack or throw a horrendous pass. The Top QB's to ever play are the guys who can be pressured or even pressured HEAVILY and still make plays.

I'd take a healthy McNabb anyday over Manning (Vick is a terrible Passer so he's not even in Manning's league) Manning couldn't hold guy's like Elway or Favre's jock strap.

I never liked the Broncos but in my opinion John Elway is far and away the best QB to ever play. Favre would be 2nd or 3rd. If Mcnabb can stay healthy the guy is incredible. His arm, his mobility. Even Troy Aikman was a superior QB to Manning because of his strength and ability to make plays when pressured.

I won't even start going old school because there are a half dozen (at least) that Manning will never compare to. Even in the SuperBowl if Grossman wasn't so...ughh..."GROSS" the Colts still would be wondering what happened. The guy has a very quick release, he's very accurate (when not pressured) and precise. I also didn't say he NEVER Makes a play when pressured, he just does so rarely. Watch and see what happens this year in the playoffs and you'll release who is on the pipe.

With that being said, that is one bad ass commercial.

I guess you missed the part where I said "last year his offensive line did an insane job." You strengthened my point. Manning's quick release and precision make him damn good but he's not the best QB in the league and nowhere near the best QB to ever play. Mcnabb is an overall better QB then Manning because he can make plays when there is nothing to make. This guy Romo looks extremely impressive but consistency is the key with him. I've watched him make plays only a couple of other QB's in the league could make (and Manning isn't one of them.)

I'd take Brady as well over Manning any day because he senses the pressure better then Manning and can create and MAKE plays when there is nothing there. Look at any big game where Manning got pressured and look at how MANY mistakes he made. Watch the films instead of buying into all the hype and being brain-washed. Look at the Patriots games of past years, the Steelers in the playoffs, the Jags last year and watch how MANY mistakes Manning makes.

Sure, when the guy is protected he's amazing, but he just isn't at the level of the other half dozen or so QB's I mentioned because he is relatively poor when he is pressured and his decision making tends to be horrendous.

Watch what happens in the playoffs this year. That offensive line will not protect him like they did last year and I doubt they'll face the abysmal offensively challenged Ravens in the first round.
