St. Louis Post Dispatch reporting Jocketty is out as GM in baseball. Very sad day for me as Walt has been a TOP 5 GM in all of baseball and brought Cards baseball back to prominence. Likely a big mistake by Cards ownership. Should be interesting to see who the next GM is.

His last major deal may have done him in with getting Mulder but overall he is has been the best at getting premium players for journeymen players and minor leaguers who never amounted to crap.
