Great price with one of the best stoppers in the game and a huge big game pitcher in Pettite.

I didn't have money on the Yankees today but I think I'll take a good chunk of this.

You guys can say wow all you want, I think that # is very accurate. Just look at playoff experiance between Pettite and Carmona and big games.

Lets hope the TRIBE can win by the "ten run rule" this time around.

dont necessarily disagree with the line, but what do you think 'carries the weight' so to speak? obviously its probably a combination of things.

but are you of the belief that pettite is the better pitcher?
simply more experience on the mound for the yanks tomorrow?
essentially a must-win for the yanks?

what do you think?

In 24 post season starts, Pettite is 18-6.

He's known as a "stopper". I don't have the #'s but it was something ridiculous this year and past years with New York where when his team is on a 3 game losing streak he always pitches solid and turns the momentum around. He knows how to step it up. There's a specific stat for it this year which is an eye opener if I can find it.

Yankees have struggled against LHP all year as showcased tonight. Right handed Carmona is a live arm but he has no experiance in these spots, and well inexperianced altogether. Remember this is first year as a starter, he didn't work well in late game situations as a reliever last year - does that say something about how he works under pressure? Maybe.

Those that say experiance might not matter or that these situations don't change how you pitch, two words: JOSH BECKETT.

Yankees are a no-brainer play. Petite has been soldi in the post season and this is essentially a must-win for the Yankees.

Betcha the line settles at 1.45

ive got a shitload of respect for pettite. while i can say with confidence that carmona is the real deal, i have a hard time seeing the yankees lose on friday night. pettite is just one of those guys in october that you know you can count on for a quality start.
