Now that would actually be a nice NLCS series when all is said and done and the best part of it all is that nobody probably would have predicted the matchup. Getting rid of a couple of teams from the dinosaur era and bringing in some fresh clubs from the modern era would be a breath of fresh air. When the Cubs fell to the D-Backs with Senior Carlos Zambrano pitching in game one, Cubs supporters had to be down and out because game one was crucial in that Arizona's ace Brandon Webb was Zambrano's mound opponent. Knocking off the home team in this scenario would have provided Chicago with an important 'mental' victory in addition to plenty of momentum heading into this evening's game two tilt with Ted Lilly on the mound. However it wasn't to be and Lilly has since been rocked 'to and fro' and is currently collecting splinters in the Cubbies dugout as I type this thread. Arizona will soon fly into the Windy City on the tail of two 'huge' home victories and to imagine the Cubs winning three consecutive games would be a 'daydream' of sorts IMO. As for the Philly supporters, it'll be a very long off season in comparison to the very short playoff run they encountered but the bottom line is simply that they were beaten by a very competitive and very hot team in the Colorado Rockies. I would and will enjoy this upcoming NLCS series and if anyone out there believes any other matchup is in the cards, then you too are in your own 'daydream' of sorts. Here's to a Colorado-Arizona NLCS: :toast:

I'm a baseball junky, so I'll be dialed into that series, but if it's indeed a Rock / Zona final, Fox's ratings will go into the toilet.

no doubt arizona/colorado would be be 'fresh' and good for those markets. but the world series would end up pretty lopsided as any of the 4 remaining american league teams would be prohibitive favorites over them. history has shown that upsets can happen. but a 4-0 or 4-1 world series would be more likely with those representatives.

well i agree that any AL team would be favored against any NL team in the WS but dont underestimate Colorado they won 2 of 3 against boston and swept the yankees this year - and they weren't even playing as good as they are now

Rockies have the bats and momentum to go to the WS and a serious chance to win
