.314-54-156= one of the greatest seasons EVER.

I hear what you are saying. Is is unfortuante that most will judge him on those 10 ab's this season. I keep hoping and praying he implodes and leaves NY for greener pastures in Detroit (wishful thinking but you never know they are looking ofr a SS). No feel good story in NY is a good thing for the rest of baseball's free agency market.

They get swept in the postseason or lose the series and those numbers are as good as toilet paper. IF you do not believe me ask most Yankee fans. I know it is hard but this is reality.

Sorry dont agree with that at all. I just watched nightly what I consdier one of the greatest single seasons you could watch this year with Maggolio Ordonez. It was unbelievable. He never went 2 games in a row without a hit. There were times I would just sit back and laugh at how good of a year Mags was having. It was just unreal to watch. ARod's season was even a little better so I cant even imagine following that.

If fans think that than they are not true fans. Sorry I choose to look at the big picture not 10 ab's. That is dumb.

I hope you are right and they boo the hell out of him and he gets pissed and leaves that fair weather town. There are lots of other teams that will take him on. I can only hope this happens.

4-47 is a lot more than 10 AB's. It is about winning. The Yankees are about winning. I understand your point. It can be considered a little unfair but you want to be paid the most money in baseball and you you go 4-47 in the postseason? Sorry this is money time. See Manny and Ortiz.

We already know about the last 41 ab's so there isnt nothing he can do about them now. They knew that before this season and realized it.

He has had 6 ab's so far this playoffs. Dont get me wrong I am rooting against him as I have made some decent money with the Indains so far but he could be my favorite player tomorrow if you know what I mean.:103631605

Wasnt Bonds a notoriously sub par post season hitter until his break out season when the Giants went to the World Series?

I can almost promise you if you were to give him 600 ab's in the postseason (which I know is impossibile) he would find a way to hit .310 with 35+ HR's and 110+ RBI's and that is a guarantee.

Baseball stats end up finding there way to normalcy eventually (not sure this even a real sentence, LOL). His struggles are a great story though and one great reason he will end up a Tiger one day (I hope and pray).

Yeah but you are missing the point of clutch time. WHy have a postseason if it is going be include 600 Abs? Everything is condensed to see which team rises. In all sports everywhere.

Not sure on Bonds but not as bad as this. ANd he did finally get there a lot quciker than what this guy is doign every year.

Before the 47 ABs not surebut not good enough to win.

I agree somewhat. Unfortunately he can'tget 600 ab's during the postseason and if he could I am sure he would find a way to get to .310-35-110.

Keep getting those Yankees fans riled up and get them to boo nice and loud, so he leaves that town.

Not good enough to win? What's your point? Your coming across more like a gloating Red Sox fan than someone seriously questioning a players post-season effort.

I don't have his numbers prior to the last 47, but they were splashed on the screen last night, and they were comparable to what he's always done during the regular season, meaning the last 47 are anomolous.

If there's any group of people that understand the cruel nature of streaks it should be the folks on this board. They occur at anytime and seem to have no rational answer. I went 17-1 yesterday - it's not like I get real smart all of a sudden. A few weeks back I went 6-23 (a Sunday, I think). I didn't wake up taking stupid pills that day, its just how it works.

You can cherry-pick the numbers all you want, but from what I see ARod is doing what he always does, taking walks, not swinging at bad pitches, etc. He's just not getting hits.

Maybe he's a choker, but it doesn't look that way to me.

I doubt he is leaving. Inside bases on ESPN says the Yanks have already internally agreed to give him the money. They said that this morning (or last night). They also said that he is going to get pounded if the Yanks go on to lose. That is where I got those stats from.

I am not questioning his effort just the results. The point is he is failing miserably during money time.

HE definitely is a choker. Just the facts.

Great post. Everytime I see streaks, good or bad in sports I try and compare it to my gambling expierences.

I tell myself all the time when I am hot or cold that I am what I am and not to get too happy or mad with what is currently going on betting wise. Some how, some way, I make it back to around the exact same percentages I always am but this only happens after numerous trials.

Top notch post. I feel EXACTLY the same way and could not have put it better myself.

You may very well be seeing your team in the ALCS next week but if you happen to have tickets for Game 5 I think you will be using them.

Congrats Gravy so far. Still not over. Great Team effort last night. Great game to go to.

Anyone who defends 4-47 is in La La land. How do you explain that? You don't.

No one seems to realize that the Pampered Prince (Jeter) is 1 for 8 while Posada (around .335 regular season) is 0 for 7; somehow it's all A-Rod's fault.
