That's what I see at MLB.com
Mussina must be hurt-can't see it otherwise.

Wang's sinker is more effective on short rest.
That's what the pitching 'experts' tell me.

In a must win situation you have to go with Wang who pitches much better at home. Don't trust Mussina in a big spot anyway. If it were 2-1 Yanks I think you would see Mussina starting with both Wang and Pettite available for game 5.

The rest factor was what made me think Mussina over Wang. Yet his #'s are better than Mussina's. FWIW--John Smoltz last night said-he would start Moose.

Wang pitched like shit in game one, I guess he can't get any worse.

wangs era is almost 2.25 lower at home this year, why was he even pitching on the road in the first place? nice move torre, and i wonder why this is gonna be your last game on the bench for the yanks :howdy:

wangs sinker will work better on a tired arm, just how it works

if that pitch stays up like it did in game one, he wont last 3 innings

I cant believe the line on this game.

Good grief.

But if not for the bugs, very possible it could be 2-1 NYY right now.

Wang's sinker will be very good tonight This is a sharp move by the Yanks, IMO.

Full strength pitchers with live arms get great extension with their arms out in front, making the sinker break later, sometimes too late - and it "hangs".

A tired arm will get less extension out front, he may short arm the ball a bit more, allowing the sinker to break earlier in it's path to the plate.

Mussina is a veteran. You put him on the road in that Cleveland atmosphere in the decisive game, and let the young guy pitch at home.

So Cleveland didnt have to play with any bugs? Or they must practice in the bugs so they are used to it?

Got to win that one @ home first before you go on the road big dog.

Of course, but Wang gives you the better chance at home, and Mussina gives you the better chance on the road.

If there is a game 5, it will definitely be Pettite. Mussina is not getting that start

The play in this game is to take Cleveland over 4 runs. Wang is a stiff. The fact that this guy has won 38 games over the last two seasons shows just how good the Yankee's offense is. Wang is an average pitcher at best. He couldn't get the Indians out with his normal rest. Now he's going to hold them down on three days rest? Are there any sportsbooks out there that have a pitch count posted on Wang? If it's anything above 90 pitches, bet it under.
