Well, not sure how many still check this bases forum, but I would like to share my thoughts on this game.

Byrd vs. Wang

Byrd is a pitcher who relies on throwing strikes, letting the opposition put the ball in play, and rely on the Defense to get outs. He is always around the plate. Does this bode well for Cleveland? I dont think so as these Yanks can flat out SLUG. A-Rod's bat is starting to come around now that he has went home and he doesnt have to worry about facing Cy Young frontrunner Sabathia nor Carmona and that nasty sinker. Westbrook was on his A game last night, and the Yanks found a way to get 8 runs. I expect Byrd to get hit hard tonight.

Wang on the other hand I'm not sold on. These CLE hitter's fared well against him in Game 1, and I dont expect much to change tonight. I actually think things get worse for him. Debate all you want about sinkerballers and 3 days rest helps, but Im not buying it. 3 days throws off alot for a pitcher--physically and psychologically. His arm is tired. Yanks pen used Hughes yesterday, as well as Chamberlain, and neither should be ready to go tonight. Mussina is their #1 in relief I'm pretty sure.

All the pressure is on the Yanks tonight after they had the emotional come from behind win last night. How will they respond? Must win game for them. If they win, they have to GO TO Cleveland where the Tribe has been dominant all year, and the Jake will be rocking. C.C., a 19 game winner will get the start, followed up by Carmona working out of the pen. Yanks will have to rely on Petite, who needs to repeat his performance the other night.

All in all, I feel the Yanks dug themselves too big of a hole, and I think the Indians win this series tonight or the following game. Just wondering how i want to play it, a 2 game chase or what?

All suggestions, inputs, feedback welcome.

Tribe +200 tonight looks like a nice treat.

I've decided to go with a 2 game chase.

Then if it loses double up the next game.

B-E-A utiful Cash on the Tribe ML tonight. Great weekend for Ohio sports. Big doggie barked tonight. Yanks were overpriced every game of this series.

I'll be back for some more takes on the Boston series. Should be a tough one.
