My dad who works as a delivery driver got new Nextel cell phones with a GPS system on the phone provided by his employer to evry driver abut 6 guys.He was questioned on why he went a longer way but avoids the freeway during rush hour traffic in the morning going on his deliveries. My queston is is there a way to get rid of this on the phone or anyway to avoid the GPS or is he screwed and will be have to be stuck with this until he retires in 6 months.Any good info on this GPS phone subject would be usefull. Thanks in advance !

My work put them on trucks a couple of years ago.

One guy got busted at the Indian casino,he would stop by and play cards on his way back to the depot.

Two supervisors were walking in as he was walking out and he said "man what a great buffet"

I asked my sup weeks/months later whats wrong with spending your lunch hour playing cards?

he said not while in uniform........

And recently my sup's told me they want to show me how to save some time.........uugh

Was a holiday week and daily's were off a day and I had to do some stops out of the beatin path till the bulk driver dropped off my Olive Garden and they said ....oh

What a fucking waste of money and then what they hire someone to follow the at least a thousand trucks in thier fleet?

It doesn't take too much to figure out how to turn off the GPS on your cell phone--or at least switch it to "911 only" so that your 911 call will get routed to the correct locality.

Only 6 months till he retires and he only about 6 to get one? Out of how many?

I might be tempted to walk the very straight and narrow for the 1/2 year future. It sound very suspicious. Some company management love to fuck people outta their retirement.

The upper management has already spent it.

Like he told me tonight if they fire me no big deal and he can go retire early and go get a side job for the time being as he has some contacts he can go see.

The upper management has already spent it.

Well he would only get social security and some military retirement money and some 401k money and thats about it so no really big pension or anything like that but you are right management loves to screw people thats for sure and funny the owner gets a new car about once a year and gets other play toys so your right about spending it.
