BET 1 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. I know this may sound stupid but it is that simple and is the first step to having a chance on making that kind of money betting. You can't make X amount of dollars with out putting X amount of money into play. I remind myself this all the time.

One of the things I have added to my monthly record keeping is how much money I put into play a month.

I think alot bettors have unrealistic expectations when they bet. This is along the same lines as money management to me. If you are going to bet seriously you should have an idea of how much you bet and how much you expect to win and this will help you from chasing and going on tilt.

Record keeping is a must I believe in being a winning player and keeping track of how much you bet is something I dont think most put enough emphasis on.

Realisitcally a 3% ROI is about 53.8% against -110 lines, which is very good.

All you do is invest all that money in the market or real estate (apt rentals) and you will be rich long term with ZERO risk.

I know this is not what you are talking about.

But in live betting my goal is to get a win locked up on either side of the line.

It is not uncommon at all for me to wager 3k a game, and only have 150 bucks won on either side.

My wife will ask me after the game how much I bet, and when I tell her 3k, she always gets a shocked look on her face and asks "did you win".........when I tell her, that I won, 147 dollars, she gets an odd look on her face.

JJ, most people don't have the one million in cash - but they might have 50k cash and bet $500 a game - before you know it you've bet 1 mil.

But yes, anyone who has a million dollars and does nothing but hoard it for their bankroll would be a total idiot as the stock martket will out perform this.

EXACTLY.

Maybe I should have stressed that point. I obviously dont have $1,000,000 to my name but sportsbetting allows leverage to put that much into play with say a 10k-20k bankroll.

you know im going to disagree.......

Not sure what you mean.

A 3% ROI is realisitic and attainible.

If you can do better that is great but my point is most people never think of how much they have to bet to win a certain amount of money.

I remember a few years back betting the NFL with a buddy and after a long season he seemed dissapointed in how much we were ahead, which wasn't much. If I remember correctly we were up around 1k combined for the whole year and after we figured it out and looked at it realistically we actually overacheieved a little. I think he thought betting $50 a game that we would be way up for the year.

He's saying turnover of one million dollars, not one million dollars of capital. Making 2000 bets of $500 a year gets you there.

All you do is invest all that money in the market or real estate (apt rentals) and you will be rich long term with ZERO risk.

You won't get anywhere near the return that betting at 3% ROI would give.

Realisitcally a 3% ROI is about 53.8% against -110 lines, which is very good.

Sure, but we both know you don't have to be a "~54% vs WA -110" bettor to make 3% ROI.

It would be possible to make 30k by betting both sides of a game ;)

That is what fish head does.

You can turn a 2% profit a day, if you look for the right juice at various books.
