The game line has changed. The Red Sox and Wake are now favorite -114 when it was Cleve who was fav by exactly at -114 when it opened. They pounded the Red Sox with bet money.

thats very surprising. i dont think theres any question boston CAN win the game. im by no means trying to project a winner in this game. but for cleveland to again be an underdog in the playoffs (now their 8th time in 8 games) is pretty ridiculous. i thought the original opener (cleveland at just over a pick 'em) was a sharp line. but i just cant make sense of a line flip flop, especially in just an hour after the line is up

Well, maybe it is the fact that it is a desperation game for the RedSox..win or you are in deep trouble. Cleve is a damn good team playing very very well. I do not think CLeve is getting enough respect.

Sox had their chances and it didn't happen. Give Cleveland credit.

Under -118. I like the over right now thinking both teams have hit well the last handful of games except tonight. Wake and Byrd can be had.

its interesting because i think its a very important game for cleveland actually. sounds crazy considering theyre up 2-1 but if the tribe doesnt take advantage of wakefield, they will be looking at beckett (flat out untouchable right now) and that means the series goes back to boston. i think cleveland wants to clinch this at home and remove all doubt. at very worst, put boston in a 3-1 hole and face beckett on a night where the boston hitters are doubting themselves a bit. if boston wins this game and gets to 2-2 with beckett on full rest, momentum shifts right back.

that is all true. It really is a short series. I mean the Red Sox were on top of the world when they were up 6-5 in game two, looking good and at home. A game later we are down 2-1 and it is looking bleak. All the games are important and you better take advantage of your chances. I thought CC and Carmona were going to be tough. They both are very good and looks great against the Yanks. Game 5 and potential game 6 will be hard under any circumstances with those two on the hill. I originally thought this series would go 6 or 7 for sure. I hope I am right.

im interested in knowing what the general opinion of cleveland was around the boston area heading into the postseason and during the opening rounds.

lets say cleveland wins. and thats flat out hypothetical because this series is far, far from over. but lets say cleveland wins.

will the feeling around town be that they lost to an inferior team?

i kinda got the sense that boston fans were pulling for new york to lose in the first round .... but they should have been pulling for them to win because the sox would have had an easier time with the yankees imo.

whats the vibe there? do people think cleveland is legit? or do they think its what boston ISNT doing as opposed to what cleveland IS doing?

Good question. I think you are right that most people around here think that Cleve is inferior. I think most people will feel that way no matter what, even if we lose. Some smart fans do realize how good Cleve actually is. People saw Cleve struggle with Detroit during midseason and it was not that impressive at that point. They ended up playing their best when it really is best to do that, in Septemeber. They have carried that over and are peaking. I did not realize they were this good until I watched them beat the Yankees. THe lineup is very good. The two aces are two of the best. Most of all that bullpen is good and deep. That adds up to a heck of a team. It is a little letdown to not be playing the Yankees because of the rivalry but Clevel is better and proved it. Sat night I was watching the game out and when Cleve had that big 7 run inning a guy goes: "You will never win the series so enjoy it now"....sort of a little lack of respect. Cleve is rolling now and Boston is in a little trouble.

TB, it felt like a regular season game with bad announcers and longer commercial breaks.

No freaking run support for Dice K. What else is new.

Sox bats just not hot enough right now.

Did not hit enough but had a couple of big chances...bases loaded and no out....and get nothing. Manny up with men on first and second and he could have walked and creamed the ball into a double play. Not our night.

Still -105 at Greek. Some major scalping activity for those with the right outs is available.
