Most recent WAKEFIELD postseason career
INN Hit R HR BB SO ERA
2004 LCS 7.1 9 7 1 3 6 8.59
2004 WS 3.2 3 5 1 5 2 12.27
2005 DIV 5.1 6 4 1 1 4 6.75

As u can see Wakefield has struggled Mightly in red sox recent postseasons....... I DO STRONGLY believe that the playoffs are a different animal than the regular season and also that only recent playoff performances are signifcant to their potential outing.... hence I'm not taking into account his horrid end of regular season or playoffs before these last 3 ( they were horrible too)

Now lets look at Recent Byrd post season
Year IP H R HR BB SO ERA

2005 LCS(2 g's)10.2 10 4 1 2 2 3.38
2007 DIV 5.0 8 2 1 2 2 3.60

Not tooo shabby.... u compare his last 3 post season performances vs. wakefield and Paul kills em.... Throw in the fact that Wakefield hasn't pitched since almost a month ago and his back is ailing AND THe WEATHER IS GUNNA BE COLD which will keep him from looseing up and gettin in a groove......

Keeping in mind that the Pub is on the Red Sox not heavily but just enough and the line is movin in the wrong direction as bookies want more BO SOX...

ANOTHER REASOn im takin Cleveland is BOSOX lack of success in the playoffs versus RIGHT HANDED PITCHERS... hitting .249
David Ortiz is the only guy with a good track on RH pitchers but thats the beauty of baseball...1 guy will not beat u

ON the CONTRARY INDIANS HAVE KILLED RIGHTIES IN these plyoffs .294 being dragged down like a motha fuck cuz of casey blake and Cabrera (10 for 47) .212 otherwise every other player on there consistent roster is hittin over .286 5 hitting over .300 U do the math

1) Wakefield sucking in recent postseason
2) Byrd's solid recent postseason
3) TRICKY line movement
4) INdians sucess against righties
5) BO SOX LACK of success against righties

With these 5 REAONS This play is Extremely strong and INDIANs win this one and this will be my Largest PLAY EVER.. not for the FAINT OF HEART!!!!!!

I'll post the stats, but was looking at Wakefield off a layoff (7 days or more), and he gets hit hard in those instances.

I don't trust Byrd either, so I'm playing Over

Lemme find these stats again

i want nothing more than a cleveland win tonight.

but what would make you feel the books want more boston action? line has moved in boston's favor anyway.

it's actually very warm for this time of year...currently mid 60's and will drop no lower than low-60's during the game.

Wakefield is seen as being the better pitcher than Byrd, and has been great as a starter in LCS action 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA in four starts career

And Boston blew ALOT of chances last night, many Boston bettors last night coming right back with them tonight

EXACTLY lines are moving in favor of Boston and majority of money is on BOSTOn... hence they want action on BO sox making it easier to bet them by lowering the price

they havent lowered anything. the line has moved from cleveland being favored to boston now being favored.

again, i want nothing more than a cleveland win. but youre reading way too into the line. its moved 20 cents toward the red sox since last night.

Its moved in favor of the red sox however small it has ....... the PUBLIC is more so on the BO SOX THan the indians ........ therefore the line should be moving the other way...... not too much line movement on this one i agree BUT if books wanted indians money they could have easily made this a - 125 wakefield game and more heads would jump on INDIANS............ but ur right line movement is BY FAR my weakest reason

Putting that amount of loot on Cleveland to gain an extra $20 is hardly worth the risk IMO, as this is a toss-up game to the brim. I think the over is and would have been a much safer play. Good luck.

Care now young Jedi, it's quite possible the Sox yank Wakefield at the first sight of weakness and bring in Mr. Beckett. They know if they lose tonight it's likely the end of the season.

Kinda agree with other people, this game is a coin flip.

YA MAR

aint no way in hell the red so x use Beckett tonight

he is starting tomorrow and they even they go down 3-1, they can get back in 3-2 with a win by Becks if they lose today

theyll still hbe in the series

they aint gonna use their best pitcher

they would be smarter to scratch WAKE TONIGHT AND START bECKETT, THEN HE CIOULD GO AGAIN IN GM 7 IF IT GETS THAT FAR
