I think the NFL is jealous of the NBA. The NFL should never play any of it's games outside of the U.S. This is our game and needs to remain here. Afterall, would the U.K. move their soccer championship here? Of course no one would care if they did but that's not the point.

it works with the nba because basketball is played all over the world. nba is huge in europe, compared to nfl which is just an american game. leagues are getting more competitive and the top players go to play in the nba so they follow the teams and players. yao is a perfect example of that. you see because of one guy the nba is the biggest sport in china by miles.

They have been fixing what isn't broke for the last 20 years, and the result is the strongest league from a $ perspective in the world.

They have maxed out or close to on the $ that can be raised via the United States mkt place, they see Europe as the next cash cow,and they will do what ever it takes to cash in.

Eye applaud them.

I think the excitement of the Super Bowl is that if your team is lucky enough to make it you have a chance to actually got to the game. Of course most of the tickets are not available to the public because the corporate people get most of them.

Screw Europe and Mexico. This is our game and it needs to remain here.

I think NFL is just trying to get some interest from UK people which is not understandable at all to me...

Reasons why they would do it:

Increases global fanbase
Ensures a team will never be at home for the SB

I cant see the owners ever allowing it.. It is a huge financial score for the Hosting City... To much money involved to let it get away from the U.S...Maybe 10 or 15 years from now if they expand and give London a team......

the owners will allow what ever has the cahnce to net them the most $.

TV ratings for nfl games have maxed out in the US. The SB can simply get NO BIGGER. Now if the SB were in EUROPE and for that one night would draw a 15-20 view rate, OH MY.

Each owner could with ease net an additional 12-15 mill from that one single game.

If you don't think owners will allow the game to be in London for the chance to make an extra 12-15 mill, you are simply foolish.

They would play the game in old man Johnsons out house if they felt it would give them the best chance to make the most $.

Jasin is right- This will never happen because of the time issue. I believe London is 7 or 8 hours ahead of EST. The Super Bowl always starts around 6:30 EST, that means they would be kicking off 2:30 am London time. If they kickoff around 8pm London time that would be Noon here can you picture the Super Bowl starting at Noon? I just can't see this ever happening.

On a side note, I think it would be pretty cool if they played the Super Bowl in Hawaii.

Super Bowl would start 12:30pm Hawaii time, 6:30 EST. Give or take an hour because I'm not sure if hawaii is on daylight savings time.

99.99999999999999999% of Americans will watch the game on the telly and wouldn't be within 500 miles of whatever stadium the SB would be played in here in the States.

So who gives a shit if the game is on in London or Jacksonville ? You're just watching it in your livingroom. What's the fucking difference ?

Because this is American Football not that bullshit soccer and it belongs here. They arent gonna move their soccer championships oversees so why send the biggest sporting event of the year overseas other than those owners making money?
