I'm neither a Red Sox fan or do I particularly love Manny Ramirez but boy can that SOB hit. He hits any count, any situation, any park, any pitcher, anything. Some people think going to watch a Broadway play is culture or watching Pavarotti is culture or going to an art gallery premier is culture. To me, sitting at a ball park with a beer in one hand, a hot dog in the other watching this guy hit is true culture.

Scumbag watching a home run at home plate for 10 seconds when you are about to go 3-1 down and you are still losing this game by 4 runs. He's a moron.

The reason i believe he watched that homerun was because it was the 3rd of that inning. How many times do you see that a game? not many.

I'd be really really surprised if Manny can count to three.

CY--Said it for years, he may be the greatest righthanded hitter of our generation........even if he is not, those that appreciate and understand the game of baseball like you do, realize what a tremendously fundamentally sound and truly incredible hitter he is.......in his own way.

Also, the jokes of his defensively ability are actually way overblowen..........sure, he will make the occassion bonehead of all bonehead plays(but 9x less than he used to), but he has actually "worked"(I know some of you dont believe that) his way into at least an average all around defensive LF'er if not better.

Another thing way overblowen is his reaction to homers.........90% of these people that complain about this are also the same individuals that complain baseball is boring. As a player or fan, I could care less what a batter did or does when he hits a ball 500 ft.................the only time I dont like to see it is when occassionally the ball stay in the park and the showboating costs a player an extra base........but on no doubters, give me a break people, if you cant handle the heat, watch golf.

He Is A Great Hitter

A Total Joke In Lf[don't Care How Hard He Has Worked]

Ask The Pitchers If They Like His Reaction. Someone Needs To Throw One High And Tight To The Next Hitter.

Any pitcher that may be upset is a *****.........we have soldiers going to war and a pitcher is going to be upset because a guy stands for a few seconds and admires a homer????..........some after throwing 95+ mph fastballs that are repeatedly fouled and some that are close to hitting the batter??

The American sports fan amazes me sometimes.......but I'm glad they are the way they are or I would never win a wager.

By the way, this was just discussed extensively on MIKE and MIKE(standing at home plate)..........and of course the guy that has ACTUALLY PLAYED SPORTS(GOLIC) had no problem with it and the guy that is just a fan(Greenie) is making a big stink about it..................................

Again, the ONLY time I have a problem with this is when the ball stays in the park and costs the player a base.

Anybody overly concerned about this must not sleep very well at night worrying about their taxes and bills they have to pay.

Hell, Manny is just setting them up. He knows eventually they'll throw one high and tight on him to retaliate :wink:and that will just put him ahead in the count.

Soldiers going to war????huh????? Come on. You can't play the soldier card here. If so, then you can make that comment about EVEYTHING. Because in my opinion, soldiers going to war (and other death situations)may be the only thing one can complain about. We all should be happy. There is really nothing serious to complain about.

But with that said, if a pitcher wants to complain about a hitter watching a homerun, it's ok to do so. He feels he is being shown up.
I thought it was unneccesary simply because they were down 4 runs. But as someone mentioned above, it may due to it being the 3rd consecutive. That makes it ok for me.

But what I'd like to see one day, is a pitcher strike out one of these guys, and just walk off the mound and admire the strike out. Maybe re-enact the swing and miss. That would be fun.
