Is this bet OK or would it be canceled?

Seeing the other situation had me thinking about some parlays that I made last year at a top tier book.

I was not sure that these were allowed, but I bet them and would hit them at least 1 in every 4 or 5 bets. At one time I hit 3 in a row.

Well I would do a 4 team parlay taking the Cowboys for instance for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters at whatever line there was. Each parlay would pay between 11.5-14 to 1 depending on the line.

Now these are somewhat hard to hit of course since a team would have to play well in all 4 quarters. Ironically, that is something that the Cowboys have not done well this year.

I did receive payouts from this book on numerous occassions and they never said anything. But then again, those parlays were only 15% of my bets.

Would you consider these bets correlated?

Also, I WOULD Not consider taking the MNF game or the Sunday Night Football game a correlated parlay by taking the dog and under or fav/over since it is the only game of the night.

I'd say if the line is 10 or more it is slightly correlated. Less than 10 and I think it's kosher.

you are parlaying one team in the first, second, third, and fourth quarters?

I'm shocked a book would have software that allowed that, if that tells you anything.

I will check and see on Sunday if this book still allows these parlays.

By the way, you could also parlay the over/under in each quarter as well. Those were the easiest to hit

they should allow that. IN fact, I think some books have single plays that are "Dallas to win every quarter", which is similar. Correlation isn't too high in that play as winning q1 has little to no bearing on whether or not you win q2. In fact, it likely works against you if your team covers one quarter huge and turns the game into a blowout, they would be less likely to cover the remaining quarters.

Most books take the stance that there are no correalated parlays in the NFL on sides and totals only...

that is OK to book, it would be bad if parlayed to entire game.

seems like it would be easier to hit these parlays. If a team shows up flat then they have a strong chance of being flat all the way thru.
If the Qb or star running back gets hurt then he is out for all 4 sides of the parlay.

Well I have won many of these in the past and received payouts each time. Generally, the parlays were either for $96 or $196 so the payouts were between $1100-2200 or possibly higher since some of lines are often +115 or so on the quarters.. Here are some examples of 4 team quarter parlays that were winners this weekend.

St Louis under all 4 quarters was a winner

Cleveland over all 4 quarters was a winner

Philadelphia under all 4 quarters winner

Giants cover all 4 quarters might have been a push and paid out at 3 team parlay

NEw England over all 4 quarters

Now this isnt too many examples, but keep in mind that each of these pays AT LEAST 11.5 to 1. Some paid more due to lines.

My point is that is you LOVE a game under. Then why not take the 4 team parlay under as a bet as well?

FYI: 1st quarter unders are usually between 7.5-11
2nd quarter under are usually between 10.5-14.5
3rd 7.5-11
4th 10.5-17 OT counts

sportsbook.com allows it, but if you win then it will be voided and all money including money wagered will be taken.
