I'm Dr. Bob without the trends basically (seriously, we construct our lines in a similar fashion, as most people who use advanced spreadsheet handicapping do), so you can get his plays earlier in the week by reading my "Early Plays" thread, lol. I'm on the same side of all 7 of his plays. The only one I haven't made a play on yet is Philly -- ticked that I didn't grab a -4 when they were briefly available (I think they were anyway). -4.5 to -5.5 is all the same, so there's no hurry now.

Any clue what the hell his "trend" is here? He is saying he's found a trend that has gone 0-31, but then goes on to mention 36-2-1 and then 19-1. All are solid, but is he possibly talking about one, single trend?

If so, any one have any idea as to what this trend is?

Does he ever qualify why he's down this year?

Last year, his picks moved the lines a point or more. Today you can get all of his picks, a few are even -105.

AI he had 8 picks last week. 4 were stars and a few so's. 3 in week 5 6 in week 4 (2 pro 4 ncaa). 8 in week 3 (3 starred and 5 so's)

My point being its not a huge departure. Last year was an eye opener for me. He was ~60% in college and more like 50% in the nfl.

a reason to step back and reflect. I'm not crazy about his picks for this week. Might play 2. Phil and TB

One of the reasons I'm so distrustful of touts is that there always seem to be discrepancies in their listed records. In the college football forum someone posted this quote and said it comes from his site:

"I am now an unthinkable 13-22 on my College Best Bets this season and 31-60 on a Star Basis."

otherwise Dr. Bob had links to the media regarding his service, but I can't find them there anymore. I think he is fairly open (as he can be) regarding his methods on his site, but everything else is of little value except he is known to move the line, and a lot of people purchase his analysis of the games.

Bottom line to me - he has performed in the past, and has a reasonable methodology, but -as with all handicapping methods, nothing is certain. I want to hear what he has to say (regardless of all the fading here), and make my own decision. GL.

Indy looks better this year overall I don't think last year really matters. Don't you think Manning is going to outsmart their defense this time around? Interesting he likes Miami it sure feels like it's time for the Pats to not cover the spread in this game but.... yeah do you really want to bet against the Patriots right now?

Great replies. As far as his posted record versus mine, I look at the time he posts what line he got, and base the units and record off of that, which I never get. I'm not sure if he bases his final record on closing lines but there is a discrepancy between what we have as far as record is concerned.
