Do you ever wonder what we did without it? How many games would of been reversed throughout football history. Just got to thinking about it watching the illi/mich game, that wouldn't of been a TD and the score would be 14-13. Could be big in the end or not. How many of thousands of other games would of been effected had instant replay always been around....

I remember the pre-replay days very well. And I remember all the opposition to any mention of it. I'm glad things have evolved and become truer to the concept of, "May the best man win."

I am remembering one NFL game in particular right now. It was the Houston Oilers who got totally robbed of a playoff game (and a trip to the Super Bowl ??) on a blown call of an in-bounds reception in the end zone late in the game. Everyone in TV-land knew the Oilers were the rightful winners - there was no question - but the other team (Steelers ??) advanced.

I wish I could remember all the details. Maybe someone here does. The receiver may have been Jeffires. It was a turning point in the decision to finally institute instant reply in the NFL.
