Lines are out for week 17 some things to consider..

Friday:

BC -12.5 @ Hamilton - Hamilton has been out of the play off race for 2 weeks now but get to measure themselves against the best team in the league. BC is still playing for the western final, Their best record ever (14wins), & will wanna blow up Casey Printers. BC has trouble covering OTR but have won games straight up.

Sask -5 @ Edmonton - Edmonton is still mathematically alive in the PO hunt. They can still cross over to the East if Montreal loses it's next games which is very likely (@ CGY & @ Winn) & Edmonton wins it's next two. (Sask & @ Ham) The Eskies beat Montreal twice in the H2H series so they hold the tie breaker. Montreal has lost 5 of their last 6 and did not cover a spread in that time. If hamilton happens to beat BC - Sask has something to play for - if BC wins this game means nothing to Sask as they will be locked in the 2nd place. I'll take some edmonton +5 3* right now I think this line goes down.....the eskies 3rd stringer Steven Jyles looked fairly comfortable as Edmonton extended BC into the 4th Q before the lions put them away on Saturday. Edmonton nearly upset the lions at home two weeks ago.

Winn @ Argos -5 - This should be the game of the week Winnipeg looked much better on Friday night as their defense turned in an impressive second half performance. Toronto is now 10-1 when Mike Bishop starts and are 12-4 ATS this year in all their games. This game will determine 1st place in the East, as Winnipeg holds a 1 point advantage over the Argos. The total on this game already dropped a full point from opening I had Toronto at -6 so this line looks sharp. Will check out winnipeg injury status before making a play.

Montreal +6 @ Calgary - Times are tough in the Montreal land the Al's are struggling and desperately need a win just to get their swagger back. This game may mean nothing by SAT, if the Eskies loose on Friday. Calgary is locked into third place in the west. I see this line has moved already from the time I started typing.

Feel free to add any insights or tidbits you may come across during the week.

The Argos are overpriced at -5 IMO. The Bombers are still a better team than these guys are, and in a game where Winnipeg can lock the East up for all intents and purposes seems a bit odd. Bishop is impressive, but honestly, he hasn't done much these past few weeks. Montreal really did a good job against him this past week, but the defense was lights out. They just kept killing AC because of his weak OL.

Back to the Als for a sec... Popp needs to get fired. You get swept by your division rival and essentially take yourself right out of a legit Grey Cup chance AFTER getting Calvillo back and you should be canned. The offense has nothing going, and whether it's Sankey or Hank for Calgary, I'd really expect for the Stamps to notch a victory to get some momentum for the postseason.

I can't lay 12.5 with the Lions on the road... just can't... However, with the way Hammy's defense has played lately, taking a shot on over 49 may be a possibility. You've gotta think if the Ti-Cats are going to show any spirit the rest of this season, this is the game to do it. I think that's the best play on the board right now.

As far as Sasky and Edmonton goes... I really don't know, and anything I put out there would merely be a guess. A third string QB at home against a team with probably nothing to play for.

I think Montreal is regretting losing out on the Casey Printers sweepstakes... and Printers himself might feel like he should have taken that flight to Montreal, instead of turning around and going to Hamilton.

I wouldn't necessarily fire the coach, but that team desperately needs a QB. I think with a QB who can move out of the pocket and throw with strength and accuracy, they are a legitimate conteder. AC just doesn't have it anymore. He used to be known for his quick release... but that is a thing of the past.

haha your right woody - it's actually the 17th game for all the teams but week 18.

Charles Roberts is questionable for winnipeg......

Not to hi-jack your thread HH, but I'm going to go with the Ti-Cats tonight small and go after the over 48.5 in that game. This game has all the makings of a spirited effort by Hamilton... final home game of the season against a team that really is already in playoff mode, a shot for the underdog to really strike and give Saskatchewan a shot going into the final week of the season to steal the West...

I've bought into Edmonton with you because I just don't think Kent Austin's heart is in this game. Really the same sort of situation I see going on it Hamilton. Last home game with everything to prove.

Roberts is out for Winny from what it sounds like, which could factor into the equation for the Bombers.

Lions had their annual BBQ at Owner David Braleys house last night.

BC has had problems matching Hamilton intensity early in these games but, eventually the talent will take over....

I look for the Lions to throw alot tonight, Joe Smith is getting banged up and will probably not get very many reps tonight.

AFL - the over is probably a good bet.
