The long break between the ALCS and the WS (I think it was 10 days) seemed to take all the wind out of their sails.

Last year the Tigers were on a huge roll (nowhere near the Rockies roll but were 7-1 going into the WS thru the tough AL).

They never got it going for a hundred different reasons but remember how flat they came out game 1 after playing so well in the series before.

Cant imagine this big of a break is a good thing for a confident team. We shall see.

There have been 6 WS teams ever with 6+ days rest, 5 of them won the WS, the lone exception being Detroit last year.............

When will the Tigers stop blaming the layoff for their piss poor play?

It wasn't the layoff ... the Tigers couldn't handle the big stage ... just like St Louis couldn't handle it in 2004.

The Tigers were the first team in a long time to lose after getting that rest ...
