True. The sporting world for the US almost only consists of US sports and teams, so in that sense there is nothing wrong with the statement. However, this kind of statement is always posted in a way that makes it sound like the US is the centre of the sporting world for everyone, which is certainly not the case.
They are the top of the College world but Boston right now has the top of NFL(the most popular sport in America), MLB(World Series is viewed all over the world) and NBA(still very popular) all with great history behind each of the sports teams. I am originally from Boston and would love to be back there to enjoy it right now. You are either still in college or recently left Gainesville. Boston is the center of the ADULT sports world

yeah you are right. No one watches college football or the NCAA basketball Tournament. It's all kids stuff.
