I know alot of guys that root for other Big Ten teams in big non conference games because their favorite team is Michigan and they play in the Big Ten.

Just heard a guy on the radio say he is rooting for Boston because being a Tigers fan he always roots for the AL.

I have never really did this. To tell the truth I think because of the rivalries and the closeness with these teams I end up rooting against them.

I know when Green Bay was in the Super Bowl back in the day there was no way I could root for them and Brett Favre (unless I bet on them, LOL).

I always root for a Pac-10 team when they play out of conference.

I find myself rooting for most California teams except the Lakers and the Raiders cause their fans are so obnoxious.

I don't care about divisions.

Root for the Big 10, that's about it. Pro sports are much different.

I certainly do...the better the rest of your conference does, the better you look.

In fact, in college basketball, every win your conference has in a non-conference game helps your RPI.

No, never and I don't understand it. I am a firm believer in my favorite team is Oklahoma and my second favorite team is whoever is playing Texas/Nebraska/OKST, I also can't stand KSU, A&M and TT and CU, the rest I don't care enough about to root against, but no, I hate those f*ers when they play OU and I hate them when they don't. Same holds true in the NFL (Raiders fan, hate Den, KC and SD) and soccer, I can't f*ing stand Chelsea or Liverpool and no, I don't root for them in Champions League play.

When your team is a WAC team, you have to root for all non-conference games....this earns you and your conference a little more respect than the usual zero....last year, I think the WAC was a 2-pt conversion away from winning every bowl game (4 or 5 of them)

Agree completetly. Unlike most Buckeye fans, I don't hate Michigan. I hate Texas and A&M living in Dallas.
It is different down here. I think because there is more interaction between OU, Texas, and A&M fans in this part of the country, meaning you either work or live by someone who is affililated with one of those teams.

Big 12 fans don't seem to pull for other big 12 teams in bowls and NCAA hoops. Texas alone has 4 Big 12 schools and the entire Big 12 south is just in 2 States.

Where ever I have been, Big 10 fans have always cheered for other big 10 teams in bowls and NCAA from my experience.
I think because most big 10 teams are in other states, unless you live in Chicago, where you have numerous Big 10 schools represented, you just don't run into to many Bucks in Iowa or Hawkeye fans in Columbus.

Michigan and Mich St fans will vote fore each other. Being a ND fan, I will not stoop that low unless I have $$ on them.

As a Cubs fan last year I was cheering against the Cards in the World Series, I definitely wanted Detroit to win

Wait a minute, Vince Young wasn't a Sooner

Once again, completely tangential to the topic, plus faulty logic.

If A, therefore B does not necessitate if B, therefore A.

Couldn't read the signs that said "don't settle in this territory before X date" either. But you know...they're sooners. That's where they got their name from anyhow.:ohno:

Not really. Gambling has really warped my sense of fandom. I just want covers now. However, I still like to see my hometown teams do well.
