They seem to have completely fallen off the map. I'm pretty sure at this point they have been decimated by some sort of Yankee fan antibiotics resistant infection which has nearly completely wiped them out.

Right now this Yankee fan is very bitter over the current state of affairs.
Torre got butt raped, George's kid is 10x a bigger asshole than his old man, Levine is a dirtbag .......................

Not to mention that Hank Steinbrenner has stated that the next manager will be on a longer leash because the Yankees are in a "transition period".

George would have no part of that if he hadn't turned old and senile and knew the difference between his belly button and asshole.

This isn't Oakland or Minnesota, the fans don't want or expect a "transition period".

From that comment I can speculate that there will be no large off season moves, as well as possibly no more Posada and Rivera. If the era wasn't already dead, it's fucking squashed now.

Get used to Posada in a NY uniform that is blue and orange, Pettitte is long gone, and that's just for starters.
If Angelos ponies up the $$$ Mo could be an Oriole..................

Gotta love a quarter billion dollar "transition period".

What a clown this Hank Steinbrenner is.

can someone please explaine to me how torre got "butt raped"? the guy was offered an obscene amount of money, true it was less than before, but the guy hasnt produced in yrs. either. why pay him more money to do an average job? baseball managers are so grossly overpayed for what they do its a joke. i mean wtf, if the guy cant win with the players he has and the unlimited money, he doesnt deserve the offer they put on the table. i dont know why anyone thinks he got a shitty deal. sure he was badmouthed a little by the owners son, who cares, the guy didnt produce. just my opinion btw

no world series rings in 7 yrs... to the owner who pays for all the best players with an unlimited budget, this is considered "not producing". im not saying he didnt have a great career and im not saying he isnt a great manager. im just saying i dont think he was shafted at all. cmon, you really gotta think that any mlb manager could have won those titles with the talent and money this team has. its a grossly overpaid and overhyped job. i know there are tons of details to the game, but really, you pitch who is pitching well, you play who has the hot bats and shit, when you are given that much money to buy the best players, the job aint that fukin difficult. im not rippin on the guy but geez being a baseball manager isnt very hard when your dealing with this kind of talent. again, just my opinion

Great to see them go into hiding, I don't hear any great clamoring for Clemens to come back, either. Favre is the Teflon quarterback, Jeter the Teflon shortstop, and Torre was the Teflon manager: I don't care about the world championships that he won last century, he hasn't won any THIS century, got upset 7 straight times, didn't make it out of the first round the last three times, and is 4-13 in his last 17 playoff games. Why does he get all the praise when they win and none of the blame when they lose, especially given the "awesome" talent on the team? Even after the "disgraceful" offer he would STILL have been the highest paid manager in the game. Granted, you could make an argument that the Yankees handled it in a chickenshit manner, that they should've just had the balls to fire him, but you'll pardon me if I don't feel that offering 5 mill plus incentives was akin to asking permission to take away somebody's 14 year old daughter away for the weekend.

Gay-Rod just very well may be waring a 'B' on his cap playing SS for the Sawk if they move Manny's salary, and trade Lugo.

(not directed to Mr. Smith) a man who takes his team to the playoffs 12 straight years, (this year without any pitching whatsoever no fault of his own) deflects all sorts of bullshit from his front office, and then gets a backhanded 'incentive' offer, for 1/3 less money in my eyes is 'butt raped'

i will kindly disagree with you bill. imo,the unreal unlimited budget to buy the best players is what takes the yankees to the playoffs every year, not the manager. doesnt matter who you got there. you know as well as i do that steinbrenner doesnt care anymore about just getting to the playoffs, he is all about championships. who knows if the next guy will do any better but the guys contract was up and the family offered him what they thought he was worth. if his contract would have been up yrs. ago, they would have done the same thing.
