Wondering if anyone has had an experience similar to this:

Been an account holder with Bodog for almost 2 yrs. Placed some wagers this afternoon and came home and logged onto my account to find this message:

I no longer have the card in question- it was lost months ago and I've since gotten a new card with a different number. They're requiring me to fill out all this paperwork and prove the account number on the card, as well as faxing 2 forms of identification. I can show old bank statements but they have my account number and not the card number on them. This is extremely frustrating and they would not define what "similar information" meant.

Anybody have an experience similar to this or that can offer advice/help?

Thanks in advance.

I've been dealing with Bodog for a while and they are really finicky when it comes to credit cards. I had a debit card that I used and when someone attempted to use it for a small amount....like $1.63 at a gift shop...guess where?....across the sea from Bodog. I had the card stopped and another one reissued. When I went to cash out one time, Bodog wanted proof for that card and lucky for me I had the bank "welcome to Wamu" thing that mentioned my account number.

You mentioned that you lost your card. Is it possible that someone you know found it and tried to use it at Bodog? That would be my guess.

I had to fax everything over to them including that downloaded cc verification form where you trace a pencil over the card so it highlights the numbers. Might be a pain, but obviously is going to help you out by stopping the fraud on that card.

HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM 2 YRS AGO. THEY WANTED A COPY OF MY BANK STATEMENT. I HAD WON A POKER TOURNAMENT FOR 1900.00 LOUSY DOLLARS. I TOLD THEM TO GO XXXX THEMSELVES. SO FAR I'M PARTIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR 27 PEOPLE PULLING OUT OF BODICK. I KNOW IT'S NOT ALOT BUT I'LL KEEP TRYING.

Exactly. It's all for your own protection.

How would you feel if your account was emptied out to some ID theft scammer? Deal with it-it's a good thing.

Nah, the card was lost about a yr ago.

I talked to their security again and they said they should be able to reinstate the account with a faxed ID, my signature on the forms, and a faxed copy of an EFT(electronic funds transfer) check from a deposit to my account from a month ago. I can get print a copy from my bank's website. Hopefully this goes smooth.

Damn this is aggravating.

Well, I don't think it's fraud or ID theft as all my accounts are solid and have no fraudulent charges, and like I said the card I opened the account with has been done for maybe a yr, but you guys bring up some good points.

Hey Bulldawg23 --
Are they honoring the plays you made earlier today? I know you're a Dr. Bob guy -- were they Dr. Bob picks? Maybe they're messing around with people playing those games right after he releases them?

I play there too but plan on bailing after cfb ends this year. .

After faxing all this info to them, they said my account was verified but I had to wait for the other account holder in question to fax their stuff in to make sure we were different. I was livid at this and asked to speak to a security director or manager. After they reviewed the account, the manager said they would make a very rare exception and allow my account to be reinstated w/o the other's info. They cited my good standing with them and the fact that I'd been with them since 2005.

She eventually told me the reason my account was flagged was b/c these 2 accounts had almost identical wagers and they do not allow syndicates. I asked her if she knew of Dr Bob and she said no, and I said well there's a well known handicapper who releases his picks every Thursday at the same time and that's why we may have had the same picks. I stated that Bodog themself moves the lines b/c of this guy's picks and she seemed unaware. I've been using Bob the entire time with them so I don't know why it was a problem with them this time.

At any rate, it's resolved now and I respect Bodog and their attention to security detail, but this was a helluva aggravating experience. I have an account at Bookmaker also, so perhaps I should move all my funds to BM.

Oh, and yes they're honoring my plays from earlier, although I wish they wouldn't now lol.
