I disagree. They were being shutout with a couple minutes left. I would hardly say that was a Heisman performance. A nice comeback but not a Heisman winning performance either.

If that is not a Heisman-defining moment nothing is. Has a horrible game then has not one, but two clutch drives to win the game. Then he's puking his guts out on the sideline after he has won it.
Ryan was the frontrunner before the game, though not a runaway. True, they were shutout, but they were in Blacksburg on a Thursday night and the guys sacked up and led two pretty signficant touchdown drives with less than two minutes to win the game.
There was another BC quarterback who once won the Heisman on the strength of a game-winning drive on national TV.
