Will books hold money for player's private bets ?

I would think that they would do it for fee. Why not?? If anything, we might bet the winnings at the book later

It has happened before on this very site. But it is only $500. Neither one of us is going anywhere. It isnt that much money to either one of us. I dont think that we really need someone to hold this amount of cash

It depends. Some will do it for regular customers, but don't expect them to eat the deposit fees if the people involved aren't already funded there.

Some books don't want to mess with it(very understandable), others will accomodate.
