Was having a discussion with a few friends last night and we were talking about what the line would be this week if Rams were playing in NE this weekend. I thought NE -22 total 50 would be about right. Some of the others thought it would be higher than that but I can't remember ever seeing an NFL game line of 24. What would you make the line?

I think Miami in New England would be higher.

People would think Rams have an offense and might backdoor something.

Miami might be -24 to -27

Colts/Texans (in Indy) in the year when Texans went 2-14 and the Colts were wtfpwning everyone was -21. I'd say -24 should be just about right.

Think of what the line will be for the rematch against the Jets in December ...

Belichick will throw bombs even when it's 56-3 if it helps in getting Mangini fired.

funny note: Dolphins smashed the Pats 21 - 0 as 3.5 pt home dog in week 14 last year .

Mia at NE this year in week 16 the significance of the game for the Pats will have no playoff implications most likely .

NE coach being how he is offsets this no playoff implications scenario ?

Line will be Pats minus 21.5 barring no serious multiple key injs for both teams .

I would take + 21.5 pts in any NFL game without hesitation .

Rams + 23.5 if in NE .

23 is too low imo...if this team keeps playing like they have been it will be 4td's...what people fail to realize is they arent calling off the dogs...and its clear as day...this is belichek's way of saying fu-k you to the league...they were throwing when it was 38-0 vs washington...they put brady BACK in after the int for a td cut the lead 21 vs miami!!!! teams like Miami/Jets and STL are the bottom of the barrel who cant score the line has to be 4td's bc new england isnt gonna take it easy on anyone....

im not gonna argue the lines not retardedly overinflated but it has to be for the reasons mentioned above...i know the "sharps" are saying well this is 3/4/5/6pts too high so im gonna side with the dog...problem is coach B dont give a fu-k so keep standing in the way of that machine and keep getting hammered fading new england...this is a statement by the whole patriots organization from the top down....

I just checked with a power rank system used to make lines and its usually pretty accurate and it has The patriots -34

THE BIGGEST SPREAD I EVER REMEMBER WAS A GAME IN (1993) IT WAS AT SAN FRANCISCO.... AND THEY WERE A 24 POINT FAVORITE AGAINST CINNCINATI...

i remember this game well as i was booking at the time and it was the night game and the players had gotten murdered during the day and every swinging dikk came out firing on san fran...

we actually ended up with the line at 27 and still could not keep them off... the result was cinn covered and ended up being the biggest game for us that year..

here is another one 1987

san francisco 23 point road fav at atlanta

and here is something i do not think we will see again in our lifetime

the san francisco 49er's from 1983 until 1998 were double digit favorites in an astounding 123 games
