did anyone hear that last night? He questioned the ridiculous timing of his announcement and saying he is trying to take away the spotlight from the World Serious and great contributors like Lester and Pedroia. He also said that there is a reason that Arod has never been in a World Series and this is why (insinuation how self absorbed he is). OUCH!!! I am glad Gammons had the guts to speak the truth. Arod had to 10 days AFTER the World Series to do this, he chose yesterday. Yanks should be happy.

plus gammons strokes the red sox like Mark May strokes USC. I bet he wouldn't have said near as much if the Indians were in the series insted of the red sox.

blame Boras not Arod

Exactly. And Gammons did just that on Colin Cowherd's show this morning. Yet another calculated move by Boras that infuriates the public, but is the correct move in representing his client.

Very sharp post. Only people whining about this are Red Sox fans.

It's insulting to every baseball fan in every city that A-Rod would announce this at the time that he did. Fuck A-Rod. Your team lost and nobody was talking about you, and you couldn't take that.

Actually, it just shows how pathetic he is as a person. All the skills and money any human being could ask for, yet he is as insecure as a 12 year old girl at a junior high dance.

Both Boras and Gammons were on Cowherd today (not together). Boras sounded like a weasel. Not only did Gammons not back off his comments last night, I think he was more pissed off this morning. Excellent.

The Yankees didn't announce it, ARod and his agent, Scott Boras, announced it. Steinbrenner and his crew showed some class and restraint.

Boras works for Gayrod.

Scott Boras is better at what he does than MJ was a hoopster. Say what you want about Boras, his job is to maximize his clients earnings and he does just that.

Also, you can't have a single contracted signed that isn't approved by a team GM and Owner.

Tom Hicks is the moron and next owner that signs Arod. Yes, the timing swas terrible, just like Illini said, but why do people criticize players for taking the money. I know I would.

I'm not totally convinced it was about the money (100% anyways.)

I dont think he was ever really all the way happy there and also the Yankees said they are going to rebuild or whatever. What superstar wants to stick around for that?!

You would throw loyalty and winning out the door so you could make 27 mil instead of 18 mil? WTF is the difference?

If he's gonna be a greedy selfish whore, then don't talk bullshit and wanting to win and it not being about the money, and how you want to remain a Yankee. There is nothing worse than hypocrisy.

Illini,

Your statement is 100% correct. However, sports is all about hypocrisy. Everyone is a phony.

AssRod is looking for more Control on the Team that signs him !
