Interesting, I just saw a report on the news here in Costa Rica where just about anyone here can go get laser surgeries to fix eye problems over there for free. (Venezela has very good standards in this field). The only thing they have to pay is the tax to get out of Costa Rica but the Venezuelan government covers the airport tax, transport, hotel, meals, even the surgery.
Theyve' been doing this since May 2006. I have no clue if this includes other countries aside from CR or what but I found it very interesting. And no, our government isn't exactly in bed with Chavez, in fact he's been very critical of our president.
Why would Venezuela do something like this? Odd.
