in college football and basketball over the past few years.

unranked home team ATS against ranked teams (top 25) on the road.

i have tracked it the last year in both and it seems to be pretty good. i used to fade ranked teams all the time on the road in college sports.

Back before the internet days there used to be a rule of thumb that whenever an unranked team hosted a ranked team and the unranked but home team was favored you automatically laid the points.

This came from some of the ranked teams having to play in the old bandbox gyms that were graveyards for teams that played in big time arenas almost all the time. The old gym at West Virginia was one of the most notorious in it's day. There were a lot of them around in the 50's and 60's when betting college basketball became popular for the first time. These days I don't know of any that will attract a top 25 team, all the teams in the major conferences must have modern facilities that seat at least 4 or 5 thousand fans minimum. There may be some exceptions still in use but I can't think of any right now.
